New Orleans Saints

Quarterback

Tyler Shough: SIT

Never, ever, ever under any circumstances say, “I’ll start Tyler Shough“.

Running Back

Alvin Kamara: SIT
Devin Neal: SIT

I know rushing the ball hasn’t been the bread and butter of Alvin Kamara‘s fantasy value over his career, but he’s run for a total of 94 rushing yards over the Saints’ last four games. He’s not getting as much work through the air either, seeing three or fewer targets in over 50% of his games. He’s scored double-digit fantasy points just twice since Week 3, and as much as it hurts, he belongs on fantasy benches until further notice. If you need the roster spot due to byes or injury, I have no issues with dropping him.

A man who carried so many of our teams on his back for so many years. As we bid your fantasy value adieu, this one’s for you, Alvin Kamara.

Wide Receiver

Chris Olave: START, WR3
Devaugh Vele: SIT
Rashid Shaheed: Traded to Seattle

Since Tyler Shough took over for Spencer Rattler, the Saints’ top option may have flip-flopped.

Rashid Shaheed – 5 catches, 9 targets, 68 yards

Chris Olave – 3 catches, 4 targets, 57 yards

This is after Shaheed saw 8 targets to Olaves’ six from Shough last week. It’s a small sample size, but it would be a significant shift in fantasy value for both if Shaheed is indeed Shoughs’ favorite target.

Welp. Scratch that. It’s a moot point with New Orleans’ top deep threat sent packing. Devaughn Vele does become somebody worth keeping an eye on as the puzzle piece to potentially fill the Shaheed-sized hole left in the receiver room. Chris Olave saw just four targets in Shough’s first start. Olave’s fantasy production this year has been purely volume-based, so if the drop in targets is more than a blip on the radar, Olave could lose significant fantasy value. In a difficult matchup against a Carolina Panthers team that’s held all but three receivers to under 100 yards and just five scores to the position, Olave is a risk/reward WR3.

Tight End

Juwan Johnson: STREAMER

Juwan Johnson is back on the streaming radar after averaging 11.8 points over his past three games. The Panthers haven’t given much up to the position, allowing 50 or more receiving yards to the position thrice this season. He’s a borderline bLoBer.

Defense/Special Teams

New Orleans Saints: SIT

The Saints’ defense isn’t in consideration for fantasy purposes.

Carolina Panthers

Quarterback

Bryce Young: SIT

Bryce Young was barely able to get over 100 passing yards against the Packers, making it seven of eight starts this season, he’s logged fewer than 200 passing yards. If Andy Dalton wasn’t an abomination in his spot start for an injured Young last week, I’d say we could see a changing of the guard again. But Carolina will likely ride it out with Young as long as they can. Neither are fantasy viable options in any matchup.

Running Back

Rico Dowdle: START, RB2RBDAWG (Shoutout u/Ben_Waffleburger)
Chuba Hubbard: SIT

The Panthers’ backfield belongs to Rico Dowdle. Dowdle played 74% snaps, rushing for 5.2 yards per attempt, 25 carries, and 3 targets for a total of 141 yds and two touchdowns. Chuba Hubbard had just five carries and one target for 17 total yards. What’s even more encouraging is that Dowdle got all five of the short yardage carries, including both of Carolina’s rushing attempts inside the five. Dave Canales stayed true to his word, and it looks like Dowdle is the Panthers’ starting running back for the rest of the season. He’s a rock-solid RB2 for fantasy purposes. Relegated to backup duty, Hubbard is unstartable. And you’re supposed to get two pumps!

Wide Receiver

Tetairoa McMillan: START, WR3
Xavier Legette: SIT
Jalen Coker: SIT

Sadly, the volume that was keeping Tetairoa McMillan‘s fantasy floor afloat has been reduced enough to no longer make the rookie someone that needs to be in lineups every week. Tet has fewer than 50 receiving yards in three of his last four games and is averaging just over four catches per game over that span. He’s a shaky start with the Panthers’ run-heavy offense and struggling passing game. Xavier Legette and Jalen Coker are closer to waiver wire fodder than starting lineup material.

Tight End

Ja’Tavion Sanders: SIT

Which has more yards? Ja’Tavion Sanders in 2025 or a 16-pack of Charmin Ultra Soft Mega Roll toilet paper?

I think you know the answer.

Defense/Special Teams

Carolina Panthers: START

The Panthers are holding opposing offenses to 19.7 points over their last three games. Oh, and Tyler Shough
