Jacksonville Jaguars
Quarterback
Trevor Lawrence: SIT
Trevor Lawrence hasn’t gotten much done through the air over the past four weeks, averaging 248.5 passing yards and one passing touchdown. But he’s given a lifeline to his fantasy value by rushing for two touchdowns twice, Week 5 versus Kansas City and last week versus Las Vegas. The Texans are arguably the best defense in the league and the worst fantasy matchup for opposing quarterbacks. Thanks to bye weeks and injuries, you’re probably stuck starting him in Superflex. But he’s a firm sit in 1QB.
Running Back
Travis Etienne Jr: START, RB2
Bhayshul Tuten: SIT
Lequint Allen Jr: SIT
The Texans have been a bit more fantasy-friendly of a matchup to running backs than quarterbacks, but not much. The Texans have yet to give up 100 rushing yards to a running back and have allowed just one over 70 yards, Bucky Irving all the way back in Week 2. Travis Etienne has significantly cooled since his scorching hot start. But his increased involvement in the pass game (13 targets, 10 catches over his last three) keeps him in the RB2 conversation.
Wide Receiver
Brian Thomas Jr.: START, WR3*Watch Practice Reports*
Parker Washington: FLEX, WR4
Dyami Brown: SIT
Jakobi Meyers: SIT
The Jaguars’ receiving room is an absolute mess right now. Travis Hunter was stunningly put on IR last week. Brian Thomas Jr. suffered an ankle injury in Week 9 and had yet to practice at the time of writing. Dyami Brown suffered a concussion in the same game and is trending out for Week 10. Parker Washington has been the main beneficiary of the madness, soaking up 19 targets over the Jags’ past two games and offers FLEX value with a smidge of upside if BTJ is unable to give it a go. The Jags traded for Jakobi Meyers, who could be thrust into a starting role as early as this week. Wide receivers changing teams mid-season have historically struggled, but Meyers could become FLEX viable rather quickly if BTJ misses multiple games.
Tight End
Johnny Mundt: SIT
Johnny Mundt has fewer fantasy points than games played this season.
Defense/Special Teams
Jacksonville Jaguars: STREAMER
They’re not a defense to force into your lineup, but facing Davis Mills makes just about anybody a streaming option.
Houston Texans
Quarterback
C.J. StroudDavis Mills: SIT
Don’t be a hero and stick your neck out to start Davis Mills.
Running Back
Woody Marks: FLEX, RB3
Nick Chubb: FLEX, RB3
Woody Marks has been the ultimate tease this season. He’ll flash us just enough brilliance to look like he’s taking over the backfield, then put up a sub-3 stinker. Nick Chubb wasn’t practicing at the time of writing due to a foot injury, and one would assume Woods would absorb most of the extra work if Chubb were to miss. Jacksonville has been stingy against running backs, allowing the tenth fewest points to the position. If both are active, Marks is a low floor, high ceiling FLEX, and Chubb is FLEX but put the ceiling down, flip it, and reverse it (if you know, you know). If Chubb misses, Marks’ floor is bumped a bit, but not enough to make him an RB2
Wide Receiver
Nico Collins: START, WR2
Xavier Hutchinson: SIT
Christian Kirk: SIT
Jayden Higgins: SIT
Jaylin Noel: SIT
With Davis Mills expected under center for the Texans, the only Houston receiver you can consider starting is Nico Collins. But with an implied game total under 40 and an implied team total of 20, there’s not much upside. Collins should be peppered with enough targets to keep him in lineups, but don’t expect him to sniff 20 fantasy points. Don’t expect him to score 20 fantasy points, either.
Tight End
Dalton Schultz: STREAMER
Dalton Schultz has scored over 13 fantasy points in two of his last three despite battling multiple nagging injuries. If he’s able to suit up against the Jags, he’s a viable streaming option considering he’s seen 21 targets over his last three games. Jacksonville is a fantastic matchup, allowing a touchdown to the position in four straight games. That includes three to Brock Bowers last week.
Defense/Special Teams
Houston Texans: START
The Texans are holding their opponents to a league low 15.1 points per game. Week in, week out must start.
