Minnesota Vikings

Quarterback

J.J. McCarthy: SIT

It’s easy to forget that J.J. McCarthy has just five NFL starts. Although they’ve been few and far between, we have seen some flashes of brilliance from McCarthy, and the Vikings are committed to him. He’s sporting a 4:4 touchdown to interception ratio since his return from injury, and I’m not confident enough to say he’ll put it together by the time that juicy fantasy playoff schedule comes around. But I think he’s worth hanging onto in all formats if you have the room in case he does, especially with weapons like JJettas and Addison.

Running Back

Aaron Jones Sr: START, RB2
Jordan Mason: SIT

The Vikings’ backfield has belonged to Aaron Jones since his return, handling 58.8% of snaps and 48.8% of carries compared to 33.5% of snaps and 30% of carries for Jordan Mason. Not only that, but Jones has out-targeted Mason 17 to 3 and averaged 5.4 yards per carry to Mason’s 4.5. The elder statesman is simply outplaying the young buck, and Jones’ workload keeps him in the RB2 range. Mason is sadly unstartable for now.

Wide Receiver

Justin Jefferson: START, WR2
Jordan Addison: START, WR3
Jalen Nailor: SIT

The targets are there for Justin Jefferson; the quality targets just aren’t. Over the past three weeks, JJettas has had a 30.3% target share, but only 60% of them have been catchable (eighth worst among receivers with at least 10 targets over that period). Jordan Addison has a solid 20.2% target share as well, but his catchable target rate is even worse: a league-worst 50% (minimum 10 targets). McCarthy’s play is poor enough to drag down arguably one of the most talented receivers in the league. Until something changes, I have to downgrade Jefferson to a WR2. The Packers have held all but one wide receiver under 100 yards and given up just four touchdowns to the position since their Week 5 bye.

Tight End

T.J. Hockenson: SIT

T.J. Hockenson shouldn’t be rostered, let alone started.

Defense/Special Teams

Minnesota Vikings: STREAMER (Potential multi-week)

The Vikings are one of nine teams with fewer than 10 turnovers forced, but have a respectable 26 sacks this season. They’re a decent streamer with great matchups in Weeks 14 and 16 who could pair well with another defense that can fill the holes in Weeks 13, 15, and 17.

Green Bay Packers

Quarterback

Jordan Love: SIT, QB2 (Startable in Superflex)

Jordan Love threw two touchdowns against the Giants, his first game with a touchdown since Week 8. Love has had a few ceiling games, but as dominant as Jacobs has been on the ground and the defense playing so well, Love hasn’t had to air it out. If Jacobs misses, Love could see an uptick in pass attempts, but with one of the week’s lowest implied game totals at 41.5, I don’t anticipate much scoring. Love is best left for Superflex leagues.

Running Back

Josh Jacobs: Likely OUT | START, RB1 (If Active)
Emanuel Wilson: START, RB2 (If Jacobs OUT)
Chris Brooks: SIT

Josh Jacobs became the most recent victim in a long line of players injured on the abysmal playing surface at MetLife Stadium. It isn’t considered a long-term injury, but his status is in serious doubt for Week 12. Jacobs wasn’t practicing at the time of writing. I don’t think he plays this week, but if Jacobs is active, he’s in your lineup. Period. Emanuel Wilson filled in for Jacobs admirably, taking 11 carries for 49 yards and a touchdown. Minnesota’s been a middle-of-the-road matchup for running backs, but Wilson does offer a smidge of upside thanks to a few flashes of explosiveness he’s shown. He’s startable in your RB2 or FLEX spot if he’s called upon as the lead back.

Wide Receiver

Christian Watson: START, WR3
Romeo Doubs: START, WR3
Dontayvion Wicks: SIT
Jayden Reed: Still on IR

Christian Watson is officially back, ladies and gentlemen. Watson caught four of his five targets for 46 yards and two touchdowns, including the game-winning score with four minutes left. It was a sick 17-yard leaping grab Watson made while falling to the ground, and two DBs draped all over him.

Watson has come on strong as of late, increasing his snap share to around 80% in back-to-back weeks and earning at least four targets in every game since returning from injury. Watson’s doing his best to change the narrative that Green Bay doesn’t have a true WR1, and he’s easily the one I want most in fantasy. The good times should keep on rolling for Watson against Minnesota. The Vikings allow a 60.9% completion rate on pass attempts over 20 yards, the highest in the league. They’ve given up five passing touchdowns of 20+ yards, which is the third most. Romeo Doubs is still the most targeted receiver in Green Bay, but has just one game over 10 points since the return of Watson. Dontayvion Wicks and Matthew Golden are afterthoughts.

Jayden Reed has yet to practice but is inching closer to a return. Check your waiver wire to see if he’s floating out there.

Tight End

John FitzPatrick: SIT
Luke Musgrave: SIT

John FitzPatrick got the start over Luke Musgrave in place of Tucker Kraft, but managed just one catch for five yards. No Packers tight end is startable in fantasy, and nobody who capitalizes the “p” in FitzPatrick like that is startable in fantasy.
