Philadelphia Eagles
Quarterback
Jalen Hurts: START, QB1
Jalen Hurts has accounted for a single touchdown in each of his past two starts, but he has a gorgeous get-right game in front of him in Dallas. The Cowboys have allowed the most points to the position this season, and even with their recent additions, Hurts is a must-start.
Running Back
Saquon Barkley: START, RB2
Tank Bigsby: SIT
I think we’re back to pre-Week 8 status with Saquon Barkley. He’s not playing poorly enough to bench, but he’s nowhere near his 2024 production. You’re starting Barkley every week, but you have to recalibrate expectations. He’s a solid RB2 with a vast range of outcomes. Dallas is a great matchup, but I’m not sure Barkley can capitalize on it.
Wide Receiver
A.J. Brown: START, WR2
DeVonta Smith: START, WR2
Jahan Dotson: Le Sigh
Well, my gut feeling of an A.J. Brown blowup game proved to be just a little gas. However, it was an encouraging sign to see Brown receive a season-high 11 targets and the Eagles make a concerted effort to get the ball to Brown. DeVonta Smith‘s three-game stretch of 14 or more points came to an end, but both should be considered must-starts against a Dallas defense that allows the most points to the position. One thing to consider is that the recent acquisitions on defense have changed the makeup drastically, but it was one game against the Raiders. If Dallas can keep the Eagles’ duo in check, we may have to adjust our opinion. I’m starting Jahan Dotson in a deep dynasty league out of pure desperation. There’s no analysis. I could just use a hug.
Tight End
Dallas Goedert: tHe gLoB
If you look at Dallas Goedert‘s stat lines from Weeks 3-8, he had just one game with more than four catches and 40 yards, and most were in double digits just because of touchdowns. He belongs in tHe gLoB, the large mass of TEs who you can expect 3-5 catches, 30-50ish yards, and you’re praying to get a TD.
Defense/Special Teams
Philadelphia Eagles: START
Philly has held Green Bay and Detroit to a combined 16 points over their past two games.
Dallas Cowboys
Quarterback
Dak Prescott: START, QB1
Dak Prescott went into the bye with a whimper, but came out of it with a thunderclap. Dak threw four touchdowns for the second time this season as he remains a must-start in nearly any matchup.
Running Back
Javonte Williams: START, RB2
Javonte Williams is still the Cowboys’ bell-cow back, handling 77.7% of snaps and 60.5% of rushing attempts. But his passing-game usage and touchdowns have evaporated, dropping the early-season stud into mid RB2 territory. Since Week 7, the Eagles have held all running backs under 75 rushing yards and allowed just two rushing touchdowns. Williams is a volume-based RB2 in the Week 12 tilt with Philly.
Wide Receiver
CeeDee Lamb: START, WR1
George Pickens: START, WR1
Ryan Flournoy: SIT
CeeDee Lamb is an obvious start, but did you know that the legendary actor Ed Harris, famous for his Oscar-nominated roles in “Apollo 13” and “The Truman Show,” is also an alumnus of the University of Oklahoma? No question you’re starting George Pickens, but did you know that the legendary musician Mike Mills, famous for being the bassist and one of the founding members of the iconic alternative rock band R.E.M., is also an alum of the University of Georgia?
A bad defense and pass-heavy offensive approach is certainly a recipe for fantasy success, huh? Even though the Eagles’ defense has been fairly solid against opposing WRs, there’s no reason to consider benching either of these fantasy studs.
Tight End
Jake Ferguson: SIT
Jake Ferguson got back in the end zone for the first time since Week 7, but barely got over 10 points thanks to a total of 16 yards on four catches. The TE1 run was fun while it lasted, but another game or two like this and he will become the latest member of tHe gLoB. Against an Eagles defense that’s given up one touchdown to tight ends and allowed just one over 50 receiving yards, it’s time to bench Fergie.
Defense/Special Teams
Dallas Cowboys: SIT
The returns of DeMarvion Overshown and Shavon Revel, as well as the acquisitions of Logan Wilson and Quinnen Williams, made an enormous impact on the Dallas defense, at least for one week. I’m not ready to start them in fantasy just yet, but this week against the Eagles will show if last week was just a favorable matchup or a revived defense.
