Quarterback
Sam Darnold: SIT, QB2 (Startable in Superflex)
Ruh roh. Sam Darnold went from throwing four touchdowns in a game to throwing four interceptions in a mere three weeks. I’m not even mad, I’m actually impressed. It was Darnold’s first four-pick game since Week 7 of the 2019 season. It’s no surprise to see Sammy struggle against the Rams, who give up the sixth fewest points to the position and allowed just two 300+ yard performances (oddly enough, both to Michael McCorkle Jones). The Titans aren’t that bad of a matchup, but they’ve yet to give up 300 yards to a quarterback themselves. Darnold is still startable in Superflex, but I’m staying away in 1QB.
Running Back
Kenneth Walker III: START, RB2
Zach Charbonnet: FLEX, RB3
Kenneth Walker finally got a goal-line carry, totaled over 100 yards, and scored a touchdown right after we all benched him. Seattle head coach Mike Macdonald claims Walker is “showing that he’s earning more opportunities to get the ball”, which is what we’ve been screaming at the top of our lungs all season. But Zach Charbonnet was still plenty involved, handling his usual 11ish carries and playing 43% of snaps, which is an increase from the previous two weeks. If McDonald truly gives Walker more work and it becomes more along the lines of a 60/40, 65/35 split, wheels UP for the rest of his season outlook. But I just don’t trust it. The Titans have allowed the fifth-most points to the position, making both startable, with Walker a slight edge as an RB2 over Charbs’ FLEX value considering last week.
Wide Receiver
Jaxon Smith-Njigba: START, WR1
Rashid Shaheed: FLEX, WR4
Cooper Kupp: FLEX, WR4
Jaxon Smith-Njigba is a weekly must-start, but did you know that the legendary writer R.L. Stine, famous for creating the Goosebumps series, whose chilling stories have sold over 400 million copies worldwide and defined childhood fear for a generation, is also an alumnus of The Ohio State University? Receivers traded in the middle of the season traditionally have struggled from a fantasy perspective, as they have to learn a new playbook in a short amount of time. Rashid Shaheed was already a boom/bust type of player, but I think the move to an improved offense offsets some of the step back from joining a new team. I view him similarly to pre-trade for this season, a volatile FLEX who will either win your week or drop close to a goose egg. His snap share increased from 34% in Week 10 to 54% in Week 11, and he barely missed scoring a touchdown thanks to a pass that was perfectly defended by Emmanuel Forbes, so things could be closer to clicking than they seem. Cooper Kupp is a borderline FLEX simply based on matchup, with the Titans allowing the eighth-most points to the position.
Tight End
AJ Barner: STREAMER
Honestly, my jaw dropped when I saw that AJ Barner had scored 10 or more fantasy points in five of his last seven games. Granted, three of those games were thanks to a touchdown or two, including a Week 9 rushing score against the Commanders. But Barner is coming off his first career game with double-digit targets and catches, and is playing decent enough to be promoted to tHe gLoB. The Matchup isn’t great. Tennessee allows the 10th-fewest points to tight ends, but if you’re in a pinch, Barner makes for a decent streamer.
Defense/Special Teams
Seattle Seahawks: START
Seattle is one of seven teams holding opponents under 20 points per game. They also play against Cam Ward.
Tennessee Titans
Quarterback
Cam Ward: SIT
Cam Ward has thrown six touchdowns this season. Matthew Stafford has thrown six touchdowns in his last two games.
Running Back
Tony Pollard: SIT
Tyjae Spears: FLEX, RBEww
As awful as the Titans’ offense is, the return of Tyjae Spears has rendered Tony Pollard useless for fantasy. Pollard has fewer than eight fantasy points in five of his last six games, and he is droppable in (almost) all formats. Spears is barely a FLEX option himself, but is averaging just about four targets per game, giving him some extreme desperation FLEX appeal.
Wide Receiver
Calvin Ridley
Elic Ayomanor: SIT
Chimere Dike: SIT
Van Jefferson: SIT
Under no circumstances should you consider starting any of the Titans’ pass catchers.
Tight End
Chig Okonkwo: SIT
Under no circumstances should you consider starting any of the Titans’ pass catchers Part II: Electric Boogaloo.
Defense/Special Teams
Tennessee Titans: SIT
The Titans’ defense is one of the worst in the NFL and shouldn’t be rostered, let alone started in any format. Even in Titans-only leagues.
