Quarterback
Trevor Lawrence: SIT, QB2 (Startable in Superflex)
Trevor Lawrence has thrown for multiple touchdowns just twice this season, but he’s been able to maintain high-end QB2 status thanks to already matching his career high in five rushing touchdowns. Arizona gives up the eighth fewest points to the position, and even after giving up three touchdowns to a returning Brock Purdy last week, they still have the fourth fewest passing touchdowns allowed. I’d prefer to bench him if you have alternatives, but if not, he’s an option in Superflex.
Running Back
Travis Etienne Jr.: START, RB1| RB2(If Tuten is active)
Bhayshul Tuten: FLEX, RB3*Watch Practice reports*
Travis Etienne may have had the two scores, but Bhayshul Tuten had his best game as a pro before leaving with an ankle injury early in the fourth quarter. Tuten was never officially ruled out, so there’s a solid chance he stayed on the sideline as a precaution with the Jags up big. Tuten took 15 carries for 74 yards and a score, virtually splitting snaps with ETN in the first half and taking two more carries. ETN would wind up with one fewer yard on four more carries. Tuten talked to the media after the game, saying he thought it was his best game overall. The real takeaway was his availability and attitude after the game, pointing at whatever the injury probably isn’t long-term. He practiced in a limited capacity on Wednesday, so there’s a chance he plays in Week 12. I still think ETN leads the backfield, but it’s inches closer to a 50/50 split with each passing week. Arizona is a top 10 fantasy matchup for running backs; whether or not Tuten is active will decide if ETN is an RB1 or RB2 this week.
Wide Receiver
Brian Thomas Jr.: START, WR3
Jakobi Meyers: FLEX, WR4| SIT (If Thomas Active)
Parker Washington: FLEX, WR4| SIT (If Thomas Active)
The good? In just his second game with the team, Jakobi Meyers led Jacksonville in targets, receptions, and receiving yards. The bad? It was five catches on six targets and 64 yards. So nothing to get all hot and bothered about. Brian Thomas Jr. is practicing again and could return after a two-game absence. If BTJ can return, it’ll be hard to start either Meyers or Parker Washington until we see how the target distribution shakes out. If Thomas misses, both Meyers and Washington are risky FLEX plays. BTJ would be a low-end WR3 if he’s able to play against Arizona, who allows the 10th fewest points to the position.
Tight End
Hunter Long: SIT
You’re not starting any Jags tight end until the return of Brenton Strange, but he’s back to practicing. He’s a long shot to play this week, but check the waiver wire to see if he’s available if you need a tight end.
Defense/Special Teams
Jacksonville Jaguars: STREAMER
The Jaguars are tied with the Rams and Steelers with 18 turnovers forced, second only to Daaaaa Bears.
Arizona Cardinals
Quarterback
Jacoby Brissett START (in Superflex), Borderline QB1
If you love brisket, you’ll love Jacoby Brissett, who had a record-setting day despite the Cardinals’ loss to the 49ers. Brissett went 47/57 for 452 yards and a matching set of two touchdowns and two interceptions. The 47 completions were an NFL record, and most of them went to the facto WR1 for the week, Michael Wilson. Brissett has five straight games of multiple touchdown passes and solidified himself as a dependable QB2 in Superflex leagues.
Running Back
Emari Demercado
Bam Knight: SIT
Michael Carter: SIT
Trey Benson: FLEX, RB3*Has to be activated from IR*
Even with Emari Demercado ruled out, I stand by what I said last week. Until the return of Trey Benson, I’m not interested in starting any Cardinals running back. One likely has a solid week in fantasy, but good luck guessing which. Benson returned to practice, and Arizona officially designated him for return from IR. It’s still uncertain if he plays this week, but the Cards have 21 days from Wednesday to activate him. If Benson suits up, you can start him, but consider him just a FLEX against a Jaguars defense allowing the fourth fewest points to the position and allowing a max of 63 rushing yards in a single game so far.
Wide Receiver
Marvin Harrison Jr.
Michael Wilson: START, WR2
Greg Dortch: SIT
Michael Wilson saw a whopping 18 targets, catching 15 for 185 yards, the most by any receiver this season. We won’t know what to make of Wilson when Marvin Harrison Jr returns from having his appendix removed, who’s already been ruled out for Week 12. But Wilson should be 100% rostered and started as a WR2 against the Jags. I know Greg Dortch caught six passes on six targets for 66 yards and a score, but I’m willing to bet it was more of the 57 pass attempts than anything.
Tight End
Trey McBride: START, TE1
No question you’re starting Trey McBride, but did you know that comedian Leslie Jones, famous for her role on Saturday Night Live, is also an alumnus of Colorado State University?
Defense/Special Teams
Arizona Cardinals: SIT
The Cardinals are allowing 34 points per game over their last three.
