New England Patriots

Quarterback

Drake Maye: START, Borderline QB1

The Dolphins gave up nearly 300 total yards to Daniel Jones and allowed him to score three touchdowns, finishing as the QB3 for fantasy. You’re starting Drake Maye, and any QB they face this season.

Running Back

TreVeyon Henderson: START, RB2
Rhamondre Stevenson: FLEX, RB4

Rhamondre Stevenson may have entered Week 1 as the “lead back”, but seven carries and three targets compared to five carries and six targets for rookie TreVeyon Henderson show it’s a split backfield at a minimum. Henderson is the much more talented back, and it’s a matter of time before he takes over. Against the Dolphins’ defense that allowed 156 rushing yards and two rushing touchdowns, both are startable. But Henderson has the much higher upside.

Wide Receiver

Stefon Diggs: START, WR3
Kayshon Boutte: FLEX, WR4
DeMario Douglas: SIT

Kayshon Boutte and Stefon Diggs accounted for over 59% of the Patriots’ receiving yards share and 33% of the targets (per FantasyPoints Data). DeMario Douglas had the statline of the week: five targets, two catches, and -2 receiving yards.

Heading into Week 2, Boutte leads the team in targets and receiving yards, but it’s still unclear who will be Mayes’ top option. But against the Dolphins, you can start both.

Tight End

Hunter Henry: START, TE1 borderline

Hunter Henry tied for the team lead in targets, catching four for 66 yards. That’s enough to consider him a borderline TE1 against Miami, who gave up seven catches for 76 yards to Tyler Warren in Week 1.

Miami Dolphins

Quarterback

Tua Tagovailoa: SIT

No.

Running Back

De’Von Achane: START, RB2
Ollie Gordon: SIT

De’Von Achane is the only Dolphin’s player I’m willing to start based on his explosiveness and lack of competition in the backfield. The Patriots held Ashton Jeanty in check in his NFL debut, but he did score. Until Miami gets its mess of an offense figured out, Achane bumps down a tier to high-end RB2 status.

Wide Receiver

Tyreek Hill: FLEX, WR3/4
Jaylen Waddle: FLEX, WR3/4
Malik Washington: SIT

No. No. No. Ok, if you must, Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle are FLEX worthy on name value alone. But I don’t trust it one bit.

Tight End

????: ???

Do the Dolphins have a tight end?
