Los Angeles Chargers
Quarterback
Justin Herbert: START, Borderline QB1
I was down on Justin Herbert coming into the season, and at least for one week, he made me look the dumb. It remains to be seen if the Chargers will maintain the higher-than-anticipated passing rate. But Herbert heads to Las Vegas to face a Raiders team that gave up nearly 300 yards to Drake Maye and the work-in-progress Patriots offense. He’s a borderline QB1 for Week 2.
Running Back
Omarion Hampton: START, RB2
Najee Harris: SIT
Despite head coach Jim Harbaugh claiming Najee Harris could play a bigger role in Week 2, the only Chargers running back I’m starting is Omarion Hampton. He failed to score in his first NFL start, but if he continues to see around 17 touches a game, he’ll be a borderline RB1 before long. He’s a volume-based RB2 with upside against the Raiders.
Wide Receiver
Quentin Johnston: FLEX, WR5
Keenan Allen: FLEX, WR5
Ladd McConkey: START, WR1
The Chargers receivers’ fantasy finishes were pretty much upside down from what most expected heading into the season. Quentin Johnston led the way with 24.9 points, Keenan Allen was right behind him with 19.8, and early-round pick Ladd McConkey brought up the rear with 13.4. The chances of Johnston maintaining this level of success are highly unlikely, and Allen may have found the fountain of youth for Week 1, but I’m hesitant to buy it long-term at age 33. All three are startable, but dont be shocked if things flip right side up this week.
Tight End
Will Dissly; SIT
When Rich Eisen says "Will Dissly," I just assume it's Tyler Conklin

Las Vegas Raiders
Quarterback
Geno Smith: SIT, QB2 (Startable in SuperFlex)
Ba da ba ba ba, McDouble. (Decent floor, low ceiling for you new guys).
Running Back
Ashton Jeanty: START, RB1
Zamir White: SIT
Although his debut was underwhelming, Ashton Jeanty remains a must-start. Jeanty’s an elite talent who’s in position to average close to 20 touches per game. Don’t fret, the big games are coming.
Wide Receiver
Jakobi Meyers: START, WR3
Tre Tucker: SIT
Dont’e Thornton: SIT
Dont’e Thornton offers long-term upside, but the only Raiders receiver you can start with confidence is Jakobi Meyers. He’s a volume-based WR3 regardless of matchup.
Tight End
Brock Bowers: START, TE1
You don’t need me to tell you to start Brock Bowers. But did you know that during the 2024 NFL draft, Chipotle had the “Brock Bowers Bowl” on its digital menu? It was Bowers’ go-to Chipotle order: double steak, brown rice, tomato salsa, and lettuce.
