Game at a Glance
The Texans are hoping to avoid an 0-3 start as they face off against division rival Jacksonville and their new-look, yet work-in-progress offense.
Houston Texans
Quarterback
C.J. Stroud: SIT, QB2 (Borderline in Superflex)
If it wasn’t for all the quarterback injuries, C.J. Stroud would be a sit in all formats. But facing a Jaguars defense that’s allowed the third-most passing touchdowns and Nico Collins at his disposal, Stroud is a borderline starter in Superflex.
Running Back
Nick Chubb: FLEX, RB3
Woody Marks: SIT
Count me as one of those who believe Tampa Bay let Nick Chubb score at the end of their “Monday Night Football” matchup. Chubb is the de facto lead back for Houston, but you should be more interested in trying to sell high on Chubb than getting him into your starting lineup. He’s a low-ceiling, low-floor flex.
Wide Receiver
Nico Collins: START, WR1
Jayden Higgins: SIT
Jaylin Noel: SIT
Stroud’s slow start to the season has trickled down to the fantasy production of Nico Collins as well. You’re not benching him, but his status as a weekly WR1 is more along the lines of a high-end WR2 until the Texans get their act together on offense. Both Jayden Higgins and Jaylin Noel are unavailable until further notice.
Tight End
Dalton Schultz: SIT
Ian says it all:
Remember when the Texans decided to give Dalton Schultz top-10 tight end money

Defense/Special Teams
Houston Texans: STREAMER
Houston is tied with Atlanta and Denver with seven sacks (third-most), although it faces a challenge against Jacksonville. The Jags have kept Trevor Lawrence upright, giving up just one sack all season.
Jacksonville Jaguars
Quarterback
Trevor Lawrence: SIT, QB2 (Startable in Superflex)
I still believe in Trevor Lawrence and his top-10 upside in Liam Coen‘s offense, but said offense is causing some understandable growing pains. Facing a stout Texans defense and struggling to connect with his wideouts, TLaw is best left for Superflex leagues in Week 3.
Running Back
Travis Etienne Jr.: START, RB2
Bhayshul Tuten: SIT
Lequint Allen Jr.: SIT
As long as he’s seeing nearly 20 opportunities per game, Travis Etienne will remain a borderline RB1 for fantasy purposes. Bhayshul Tuten has standalone potential even as the backup to ETN, but I want to see his involvement continue over multiple weeks before I’m ready to tout him as an every-week flex. He’s among the top three most valuable RB handcuffs in fantasy, and he may not be two or three.
Wide Receiver
Brian Thomas Jr.: START, WR2
Travis Hunter: START, WR3
Dyami Brow: FLEX, WR4
Brian Thomas Jr. is one of the biggest disappointments through two weeks of the season. He’s totaled just five receptions for 60 yards and yet to crack 10 points, but he’s seen 19 targets through two games. He’ll be fine, and makes for a great buy-low target. The same can be said for Travis Hunter, who’s averaging seven targets over the first two games and is someone I’m looking to buy low if the leaguemate who drafted him is ready to cut bait. Dyami Brown has been the best Jags receiver for fantasy purposes, but I’m not ready to put him in any lineups yet.
Tight End
Brenton Strange: STREAMER
Averaging about five targets per game, Brenton Strange is a touchdown-dependent streaming option for now. He’s worth rostering as someone with potential to become a weekly starter at the tight end position.
Defense/Special Teams
Jacksonville Jaguars: STREAMER
Jackson has a league-leading five interceptions and makes for a fine streaming option against a struggling Texans offense.
