Game at a Glance
The Saints and Seahawks are both coming off better than anticipated offensive performances, but have the week’s lowest implied game total (41.5 at the time of writing).
New Orleans Saints
Quarterback
Spencer Rattler: SIT
Spencer Rattler‘s first career three-touchdown game has earned him a J. Jonah Jameson ceasefire, at least for this week. You still don’t want to start him under any circumstances, but he could become a viable Superflex start if the Saints’ continue to average 40 … yes, 40 pass attempts per game.
Running Back
Alvin Kamara: START, Borderline RB2
Kendre Miller: SIT
Devin Neal: SIT
After a concerning two-target season opener, Alvin Kamara saw his usual heavy target share against the 49ers. Kamara has a matchup against a Seahawks defense that has yet to give up a rushing touchdown, but has allowed the sixth-most fantasy points to opposing tight ends.
Wide Receiver
Chris Olave: FLEX, WR4
Brandin Cooks: SIT
Rashid Shaheed: FLEX, WR5
Chris Olave is getting tons of volume but not doing anything with it. His 27.5% target share ranks 15th at the position, but he’s totaled a mere 54 yards with no touchdowns in each of the Saints’ two games. He’s a volume-based flex until he turns the targets into more. Rashid Shaheed remains a boom-bust flex option.
Tight End
Juwan Johnson: START, TE1
Juwan Johnson has been the tight end breakout so far this season and the biggest beneficiary of the Saints’ pass-happy offense. He’s averaging 10 points a game and had a ridiculous touchdown catch against the 49ers.
Juwan Johnson snags it for a @Saints TD!

It’s far from certain he’ll maintain such an elevated involvement in the offense, but it’s time to jump on the JJ hype train and see how long the production lasts.
Defense/Special Teams
New Orleans Saints: SIT
The Saints’ defense isn’t startable in fantasy.
Seattle Seahawks
Quarterback
Sam Darnold: SIT, QB2 (startable in Superflex)
Sam Darnold bounced back after a rough first start as a Seahawk. Darnold threw for 295 passing yards and paired two tuddys with two interceptions. I’d prefer to avoid starting him, even in Superflex, but if it’s not the end of the world, you have to in place of an injured starter.
Running Back
Kenneth Walker III: START, RB1
Zach Charbonnet: FLEX, RB3
We’re back, baby! Zach Charbonnet did outcarry Kenneth Walker III by two, but the difference is that Walker rushed for 105 yards compared to 10 for Charbs. Walker is back in the conversation as a weekly borderline RB1, and remains my dark horse for RB1 overall. His Week 1 performance very well may have been due to the preseason foot injury. Charbonnet is a dangerous flex play.
Wide Receiver
Jaxon Smith-Njigba: START, WR2
Cooper Kupp: FLEX, WR4
Tory Horton: SIT
Jaxon Smith-Njigba is a locked-in volume-based WR2 who is flirting with WR1 status. It was nice to see Cooper Kupp triple his Week 1 target total with nine, but you can’t trust it yet. If he continues to see this type of volume, he could be an every-week WR3. Rookie Torry Horton caught the first touchdown of his NFL career, but he is still just a stash.
Tight End
AJ Barner: SIT
Elijah Arroyo: SIT
Neither Seahawks tight end are in consideration to start for fantasy.
Defense/Special Teams
Seattle Seahawks: START
The Seahawks have matching totals of four sacks and interceptions, and have allowed just 17 points per game.
