Los Angeles Chargers
Quarterback
Justin Herbert: START, QB1
Justin Herbert may be my biggest miss of this season. I was not expecting the Chargers to throw the ball this much, jumping from 29.6 attempts per game last season to an average of 36 attempts for the Chargers’ first three. The Giants’ defense is one of the best matchups Herbie could ask for, ranking inside the top 10 in both fantasy points allowed to quarterbacks and average team points allowed per game. If the volume continues, Herbert will be nearing must-start status soon, if he isn’t there already.
Running Back
Omarion Hampton: START, RB2
Hassan Haskins: SIT
It took an unfortunate torn achilles injury for Najee Harris, but Omarion Hampton broke out in Week 3 to the tune of 24.9 fantasy points. He saw 26 total opportunities, and with Harris out for the season, the number should stay close to that. The Giants allow the fourth most fantasy points to opposing running backs, and have given up four touchdowns in three games. Hampton is a high-end RB2 with one of the highest ceilings of any player in the league.
Wide Receiver
Quentin Johnston: START, WR2
Keenan Allen: START, WR2
Ladd McConkey: START, WR2
I lumped all three of the Chargers’ receivers together as wide receiver twos because, honestly, I have no idea what to expect from them this week. Ladd McConkey has been the odd man out from a fantasy points perspective, but all three have a target share over 19% and average over seven yards per target. The Giants allow the 2nd most fantasy points to the position, allowing five receivers to score 13 or more points in just three games. Quentin Johnston has been lighting in a bottle, and the chemistry between Keenan Allen and Herbert is undeniable. But this could be the week McConkey gets back on track as well. All three are stars this week, and I wouldn’t be shocked to see the trio finish inside the top 24.
Tight End
Will Dissly: SIT
On the bright side, Will Dissly has a 100% catch rate in 2025. On the not-so-bright side, he has two catches on two targets.
Defense/Special Teams
Los Angeles Chargers: START
The Chargers D/ST has seven sacks on the season and is holding its opponents to under 17 points per game. Oh, and they get to face Jaxson Dart making his first career start.
New York Giants
Quarterback
Jaxson Dart: SIT
Jaxson Dart has long-term upside thanks to his rushing prowess, but there is zero chance he’s in your lineup while making his first start against the Chargers defense. They’ve held two of three quarterbacks under 200 passing yards and allowed just two passing scores. He’s worth a stash, but not a start.
Running Back
Cam Skattebo: FLEX, RB3
Tyrone Tracy Jr.: SIT* Out Multiple Weeks
Devin Singletary: SIT
After Tyrone Tracy left Week 3 against Kansas City with what wound up being a dislocated shoulder, Cam Skattebo went to work. Skatt totaled 10 carries for 60 yards and a touchdown, and caught six of eight targets for 61 yards. He’ll hold down the lead back roll as long as Tracy is sidelined, and likely even when he returns. Skattebo is just a FLEX play this week, however, against the Chargers, who have allowed the fourth fewest fantasy points to running backs this season.
Wide Receiver
Malik Nabers: START, WR1
Wan’Dale Robinson: FLEX, WR4
Darius Slayton: SIT
You don’t need me to tell you to start Malik Nabers. But did you know one of his favorite hobbies is bowling, and he has a personal best score of 278? Wan’Dale Robinson should remain the second option behind Nabers in this offense, but we don’t know what the target distribution will look like with Dart under center. Robinson is a risky FLEX play considering the challenging matchup and uncertainty surrounding the offense.
Tight End
Theo Johnson: SIT
Theo Johnson shouldn’t be rostered, let alone started, in fantasy football.
Defense/Special Teams
New York Giants: SIT
The Giants’ defense is allowing over 400 yards per game.
