Jacksonville Jaguars

Quarterback

Trevor Lawrence: SIT, QB2 (Startable in Superflex)

Despite throwing the ball 40 times, Trevor Lawrence passed for just 222 yards and threw as many touchdowns as you and I. He’s been maddeningly inconsistent this season and heads across the country to face a Niners defense that’s held two of three quarterbacks under 160 yards. Technically, I’d consider him startable in Superflex, but I’d prefer to look elsewhere.

Running Back

Travis Etienne Jr.: START, RB2
Bhayshul Tuten: SIT
LeQuint Allen Jr: SIT

The unquestioned bell cow in the Jaguars’ backfield, Travis Etienne is a volume-based RB2. His production has declined since his 143-yard rushing performance in Week 1, and faces a Niners defense allowing the eighth-fewest fantasy points to running backs. Bhayshul Tuten and LeQuint Allen Jr. are stashes for now.

Wide Receiver

Brian Thomas Jr.: START, WR3
Dyami Brown: SIT
Travis Hunter: SIT

*le sigh*

I love me some Brian Thomas Jr., but his struggles plus a tough matchup equals no bueno. Until Jacksonville figures out whatever the heck it is trying to do on offense and BTJ gets over his case of the dropsies, I can’t recommend him as anything more than a WR3.

Tight End

Brenton Strange: STREAMER

Brenton Strange‘s 14.2% target share is second on the team, and his 137 receiving yards rank first. Strange is a solid streamer against San Francisco. He’s yet to get in the end zone this season, but the 49ers have allowed touchdowns to tight ends in back-to-back games.

Defense/Special Teams

Jacksonville Jaguars:  STREAMER (One, maybe two weeks)

The Jaguars’ defense has been a pleasant surprise this season, leading the NFL with seven interceptions and nine total takeaways. They’re a one- or possibly two-week streamer, depending on whether the Chiefs’ offense continues to struggle.

San Francisco 49ers

Quarterback

Brock Purdy: START, QB1
Mac Jones: SIT, QB2 (Startable in Superflex)

If Brock Purdy returns, he’s a QB1 regardless of the matchup. If Mac Jones starts, he’s more of an option in Superflex leagues than 1QB, especially battling a knee issue.

Running Back

Christian McCaffrey: START, RB1
Brian Robinson Jr.: SIT

You don’t need me to tell you to start Christian McCaffrey. But did you know he’s a talented pianist and harmonica player?

Wide Receiver

Ricky Pearsall: START, WR2
Jauan Jennings: START, WR2
Kendrick Bourne: SIT

At the time of writing, both Jauan Jennings and Ricky Pearsall were not practicing. But similar to the quarterback situation, San Fran is pretty simple when it comes to its receivers. If Jennings or Pearsall play, you start them. If both play, they’re WR2s. If just one plays, the guy playing is a high-end WR2. It’s science.

Tight End

Jake Tonges: SIT

If it’s not George Kittle at tight end for San Fran, you’re not starting them.

Defense/Special Teams

San Francisco 49ers: STREAMER

The 49ers’ defense is startable most weeks, and facing Lawrence traveling to the West Coast is one of those weeks.
