Kickoff: Sunday, September 28, 2025,1:00 PM ET

Location: Raymond James Stadium, Tampa, FL

Network: FOX

Philadelphia Eagles

Quarterback

Jalen Hurts: START, QB1

You don’t need me to tell you to start Jalen Hurts. But did you know he earned a Master’s degree in Human Relations from the University of Oklahoma in 2023?

Running Back

Saquon Barkley: START, RB1

You don’t need me to tell you to start Saquon Barkley. But did you know he’s an avid chess player?

Wide Receiver

A.J. Brown: START, WR2
DeVonta Smith: START, WR3

Not much to say about A.J. Brown. If the Eagles pass the ball enough, he’s a threat to finish as the WR1 on any given week. The Eagles may not have to throw that much against a Buccaneers team with an already depleted receiver room that just lost Mike Evans for a few weeks. Brown is a must-start, but he’s a tad more volatile than in seasons past. For DeVonta Smith, take everything I said about AJB, but reduce it by about 25%. You’re starting him too, but they both face a tall task against the Bucs, who allow the ninth fewest fantasy points to the position.

Tight End

Dallas Goedert: START, Borderline TE1

Dallas Goedert has scored double-digit points in each of the two games he’s played in this season, but the Bucs have been a tough matchup for tight ends. He’s a borderline TE1, but starting in most leagues.

Defense/Special Teams

Philadelphia Eagles: START

The Eagles D/ST is a start most weeks, and Tampa without Evans is a juicy matchup.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Quarterback

Baker Mayfield: START, Borderline QB1

It’s been ugly, but somehow Baker Mayfield is a top 10 fantasy quarterback in the early season despite throwing for less than 240 yards in every game. He’s chipping in about 35 rushing yards per game, averaging two touchdowns per game, and has yet to throw an interception. He’s likely without Mike Evans this week, but there’s a chance Chris Godwin could return. What Godwin will look like on the field after a gruesome ankle injury is a whole different story. Baker’s a borderline QB1 against an Eagles defense that’s yet to allow a 200-yard passer.

Running Back

Bucky Irving: START, RB1
Rachaad White: SIT
Sean Tucker: SIT

You don’t need me to tell you to start Bucky Irving. But did you know he’s an excellent barber? He’s been cutting hair since the eighth grade and said if he weren’t in the NFL, he’d likely be a barber.

Wide Receiver

Mike Evans: SIT
Emeka Egbuka: START, WR2
Chris Godwin: SIT *If active

Sterling Shepard: SIT

With or without Mike Evans, with or without Chris Godwin, you’re starting Emeka Egbuka in all formats. He’s scored double-digit fantasy points in each of his first three games and is emerging as the Bucs’ WR1. Evan hasn’t officially been declared out, but he’s set to miss multiple weeks. Godwin is practicing, and he tries to return to the field after an ankle injury suffered last year. If Godwin makes it on the field this week, even with a depleted WR corps, I can’t start him until I see what he looks like on the field. I’m not too confident in a nearly 30-year-old wide receiver returning from an ankle injury, especially such a devastating one.

Tight End

Cade Otton: SIT

Cade Otton has seven targets on the season. He’s not in starting consideration.

Defense/Special Teams

Tampa Bay Buccaneers: SIT

The Bucs D/ST isn’t in starting consideration regardless of the matchup.
