Jacksonville Jaguars

Quarterback

Trevor Lawrence: START, QB1

Trevor Lawrence looked sharp early, tossing two TDs in 1st, including this redonkulous grab by Parker Washington.

Lawrence needed just 23 pass attempts to throw for nearly 250 and four touchdowns; it’s a shame he can’t face the Browns every week. The Broncos are a similar challenge for TLaw as the Texans are for Joe Burrow. They’re also one of the league’s best defenses that somehow got run out of the gym in Week 1. I know they allowed 404 total yards of offense, but I’m not ready to consider them anything less than elite. However, Lawrence has played well enough since the middle of last season to be considered a must-start in any matchup.

Running Back

Bhayshul Tuten: FLEX, RB3
Chris Rodriguez Jr.: SIT
Lequint Allen Jr.: SIT

More than half of Kansas City’s 404 yards of total offense came on the ground, but there’s no Kenneth Walker in a Jags jersey. Jacksonville’s backfield is a similar situation we’re seeing in so many backfields around the league. Bhayshul Tuten saw the most carries, but Chris Rodriguez got the red zone work and 50% of 3rd downs. Tuten is the only one of the two I’m willing to start based on the workload, but don’t expect a Walker-like performance.

Wide Receiver

Brian Thomas Jr: START, WR3
Jakobi Meyers: START, WR3
Parker Washington: START, WR3

Parker Washington led the way with six targets and looked like a full-blown superstar in Week 1. Brian Thomas Jr. caught all three of his targets and appears healthy for the first time in a long time. Jakobi Meyers only caught two passes, but one was a score. The Jags are loaded at receiver, and it feels like figuring out which one is the best start on a weekly basis is gonna be a headache. I consider them all WR3s of varying degrees, and all are startable against Denver.

Tight End

Brenton Strange: SIT

Brenton Strange is an above-average pass catcher, but there’s simply not enough targets to go around.

Defense/Special Teams

Jacksonville Jaguars: SIT

There’s a big difference between playing the Browns and the Broncos.

Denver Broncos

Quarterback

Bo Nix: SIT, QB2 (Startable in Superflex)

Bo Nix wasn’t at his best on Monday Night, but some rust was to be expected. Jacksonville held Cleveland to barely over 200 passing yards and a garbage-time passing touchdown, but Nix is just a little better than the guy under center for the Browns. I’m avoiding Nix in 1QB, but he’s pretty much a must-start in Superflex.

Running Back

J.K. Dobbins: FLEX, RB3
RJ Harvey: FLEX, RB3
Jonah Coleman: SIT

It’s hard to judge the backfield split in Denver when they were playing from behind nearly the entire game. J.K. Dobbins and RJ Harvey virtually split backfield opportunities, and it was at the expense of rookie Jonah Coleman. Dobbins and Harvey are FLEX-worthy, but Coleman should be sitting on benches until we actually see him get some in-game action.

Wide Receiver

Courtland Sutton: START, WR3
Jaylen Waddle: START, WR2
Pat Bryant: SIT

Pat Bryant led the team in targets because of course he did. You never know what you’re gonna get with Sean Payton calling plays, but Courtland Sutton and Jaylen Waddle led the team in routes run and are still the top options in the passing game. The Jags should be an easier ask for the Broncos’ offense compared to a well-prepared Steve Spagnuolo defense. I’m willing to give both of these guys one more shot before I seriously consider sending them to the bench.

Tight End

Adam Trautman: SIT

Defense/Special Teams

Denver Broncos: STREAMER

A rough start against a loaded offense, but still talented enough to stream at home.
