Quarterback
Daniel Jones: SIT
It was good to see Daniel Jones back on the field, but he has a long way to go to get back to playing like Indiana Jones. Unfortunately for him, up next is the Chiefs, who just shut down Bo Nix and the Broncos, holding them to one touchdown and less than 200 yards of total offense. I think Jones eventually gets back to borderline QB1 status, but he belongs on the bench against the Chiefs.
Running Back
Jonathan Taylor: START, RB1
Seth McGowan: SIT
Dj Giddens: SIT
There’s nothing to discuss with starting or sitting Jonathan Taylor. He’s your first-round pick and just ran for two touchdowns in a negative game script against the Ravens. Even against a tough Chiefs team, you’re starting him everywhere.
Wide Receiver/Tight End
Alec Pierce: FLEX, WR4
Josh Downs: FLEX, WR4
Keenan Allen: SIT
Tyler Warren: START, TE1
Keenan Allen getting six targets lowers the floor and ceiling of all of Indy’s pass catchers. You’re still starting everyone but Allen at this point, but he’s doing just enough to piss everyone right off. The exception to the rule is Tyler Warren, who remains an every-week TE1 for the time being simply because of his upside at the position. There’s a chance Allen faces some discipline in the coming weeks and misses time, but at least in this tough matchup, Warren is the only pass catcher I’m comfortable starting.
Defense/Special Teams
Indianapolis Colts: SIT

Kansas City Chiefs
Quarterback
Patrick Mahomes: START, QB1
Patrick Mahomes looked like vintage Mahomes on Monday night, extending plays and creating when things start breaking down. He was held under 200 passing yards, but was able to score three times (two passing, one rushing). Against a Colts defense that just got the horseshoe smacked off their helmets by the Ravens, Mahomes is an easy QB1 and should be in any lineup he’s rostered.
Running Back
Kenneth Walker: START, RB1
Emmett Johnson: FLEX, RB3
Brashard Smith: SIT
Live look at me watching Kenneth Walker go off:

Sweet Baby Jesus. 7.52 yards per carry. 8.7% explosive run rate. 6.39 yards after contact per attempt. Six targets and two total touchdowns. Walker scored 34.1 fantasy points, and that was with 10 touches for Emmett Johnson. Indy gave up 3 scores to Derrick Henry last week, and it wouldn’t shock me to see Walker wind up as the RB1 this week. Johnson makes for a risky FLEX with a twinge of upside.
Wide Receiver
Xavier Worthy: FLEX, WR4
Rashee Rice: START, WR2
What happened to Rashee Rice? Sure, he scored, but saw just two targets, coming down with both for 19 yards. Rice also failed to get much separation in Week 1, albeit against a tough Denver secondary. Perhaps it’s the history of injuries, the offseason drama rearing its ugly head, or a combination thereof, but I need to see more out of Rice before I can comfortably put him back in the WR1 ranks. Xavier Worthy saw triple the targets and still had one fewer yard than Rice. Mahomes looked good, and Rice is still the best receiver on the team, so he’s the highest ranked. But I’m not sure Rice will be able to get back to that Top 10-ish WR status he was sporting last year.
Tight End
Travis Kelce: START, TE1
Second on the team in targets, Pat’s BFF. He’s a weekly TE1 until further notice in leagues that don’t subtract points for falling for Ponzi schemes.
Defense/Special Teams
Kansas City Chiefs: START
Shut down the Broncos and landed four sacks, forced two turnovers, and held Denver to under 200 yards. Yeah, start ’em.
