Sit or Start recommendations for EVERY fantasy-relevant player in Week 3 of the 2026 NFL season!

Game Info

Kickoff: Sunday, September 27, 2026, 1:00 PM ET

Location: Northwest Stadium, Landover, MD

Network: FOX

Seattle Seahawks

Quarterback

Sam Darnold: SIT, QB2 (Startable in Superflex)
Drew Lock: SIT, QB2 (Startable in Superflex if Darnold OUT)

Sam Darnold has begun to practice in limited fashion after suffering a Week 1 glute injury, and his status for Sunday is unclear at the time of writing. But whether it’s Darnold or Drew Lock under center, either is a starable Superflex option against the Commanders, who are a top-five matchup for quarterbacks.

Running Back

Jadarian Price: FLEX, WR4
Emanuel Wilson: SIT
George Holani: SIT

The only Seahawks back I’m willing to gamble on in Week 3 is Jadarian Price, and that’s merely because of Washington’s Swiss cheese defense. Price is practicing in a limited fashion to kick off the week after leaving last Sunday’s contest with a chest injury, and it would be incredibly difficult to predict how the workload would be distributed if he does suit up. If he’s out, it’s likely Emanuel Wilson handling the bulk of the carries to the tune of a “start-him-in-your-FLEX-and-hope-for-a-TD” kind of play.

Wide Receiver

Jaxon Smith-Njigba: START, WR1
Rashid Shaheed: SIT
Cooper Kupp: SIT

You start Jaxson Smith-Njigba every week because he’s Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure at Epcot: unbothered, undersized for the environment, and somehow always finding space and ending up exactly where he’s supposed to be. No other Seattle receiver is worthy of fantasy consideration.

Tight End

AJ Barner: SIT

No. The Great Barnkowski he is not.

Defense/Special Teams

Seattle Seahawks: START

Holding opponents under 10 points per game. Marcus Mariota on the other side.

Washington Commanders

Quarterback

Jayden Daniels: OUT
Marcus Mariota: SIT

Jayden Daniels has already been declared out for Week 3 after suffering a left elbow injury in Week 2. Marcus Mariota has been one of the more productive backup quarterbacks in fantasy football when stepping in to start, but Seattle isn’t the defense you want to gamble against.

Running Back

Jacory Croskey-Merritt: FLEX, RB3
Rachaad White: FLEX, RB3
Kaytron Allen: SIT

Jacory Croskey-Merritt is getting 15 opportunities a game, which is nice. JCM is averaging less than four yards per carry while handling less than 20% of the team’s red zone carries, zero third-down snaps, and producing zero explosive runs. Bill’s a touchdown-or-bust FLEX. I’d rather roll with Rachaad White,  who’s averaging four targets per game and playing 93.1% of third-down snaps.

Wide Receiver

Terry McLaurin: START, WR3
Stefon Diggs: START, WR3
Antonio Williams: SIT

Both Terry McLaurin and Stefon Diggs are averaging about seven targets per game, have an even 11 first-read targets, and three deep targets each. Mariota is a step down from Daniels, but solid enough of a thrower of the football to keep both fantasy viable. I love Antonio Williams’ long-term value, but he’s a boom-or-bust dice roll that I’m avoiding for now.

Tight End

Chig Okonkwo: SIT

Chig Okonkwo missed Week 2, and if he’s able to return in Week 3, he’s still not startable in fantasy.

Defense/Special Teams

Washington Commanders: SIT

Allowing 30+ points per game is not a fantasy defense you want to start. Unless it’s opposite day.
