Kickoff: Sunday, September 27, 2026, 1:00 PM ET

Location: Lucas Oil Stadium, Indianapolis, IN

Network: CBS

Houston Texans

Quarterback

C.J. Stroud: SIT

Seeing C.J. Stroud throw for 353 yards starts to get you a little excited… until you also see it took 55 pass attempts, and he threw exactly no touchdowns. A projected low-scoring game with struggling quarterbacks missing their top weapons is not one I’m looking to target in fantasy.

Running Back

David Montgomery: START, RB2
Woody Marks: FLEX, WR4

Back to reality for David Montgomery, as he fell flat in Week 2 after an opening week three-TD bonanza. Lucky for Monty, his Week 3 opponent, Indianapolis, has allowed the second-most points to the position, giving up 5.36 yards per carry and 177 rushing yards per game. Woody Marks was much more involved in Week 2 and makes for a risky FLEX play with upside.

Wide Receiver

Nico Collins: OUT
Kayshon Boutte: SIT
Xavier Hutchinson: SIT

With Nico Collins likely out, there are no Texans receivers who I’m interested in starting for fantasy purposes.

Tight End

Dalton Schultz: STREAMER

Yes, Dalton Schultz finished with 12 receptions and 140 receiving yards in Week 2. He also caught eight of those passes for 63 of those yards in the final five minutes of the game in sweet, sweet garbage time. Still counts, but don’t buy into the stat line too much.

Defense/Special Teams

Houston Texans: START

The must-start status of the Texans defense is slipping away, with zero takeaways and allowing 28 points per game. But they’re still getting to the quarterback with seven sacks.

Indianapolis Colts

Quarterback

Daniel Jones: SIT

Averaging 31 passing attempts per game and under 200 passing yards per game is not a winning combination. Daniel Jones is struggling to regain his pre-injury form from the start of last season and just lost Alec Pierce for an extended period of time. He’s riding the bench in all formats until further notice.

Running Back

Jonathan Taylor: START, RB1

Jonathan Taylor is a staple of your fantasy lineup, just like the Mickey Pretzel is a snack staple of Disney. It’s old school, but sometimes you just want the giant dependable thing that’s been doing its job forever, and you know exactly what you’re getting.

Wide Receiver

Josh Downs: START, WR3
Alec Pierce: OUT
Keenan Allen: SIT
Darius Slayton: SIT

Alec Pierce was placed on IR after reaggravating his heel injury and is set to miss an extended period of time. Josh Downs is leading the Colts in targets and locked in as a volume-based WR3. Until Jones starts playing better football, I’m not interested in starting either 185-year-old Keenan Allen or recent signee and former teammate Darius Slayton.

Tight End

Tyler Warren: START, TE1

Tyler Warren is a weekly tight end starter, but I’d really like to see him do more than 17 yards per game with the six targets per game he’s getting. If those yardage totals don’t start to improve, we’re going to have to knock him down a tier or two.

Defense/Special Teams

Indianapolis Colts: SIT

Allowing a league-high 37 points per game.
