Sit or Start recommendations for EVERY fantasy-relevant player in Week 3 of the 2026 NFL season!

Game Info

Kickoff: Monday, September 28, 2026, 8:15 PM ET

Location: Soldier Field, Chicago, Ill.

Network: ESPN, ABC

Philadelphia Eagles

Quarterback

Jalen Hurts: START, QB1

Jalen Hurts wasn’t great but did enough to win against a pretty rough Titans squad last week. He peppered his old college teammate DeVonta Smith with 13 targets but ran just five times for 16 yards while also throwing a pair of interceptions. At 2-0, Hurts has not been good enough for Eagles fans to be proud of (will he ever be?) and hasn’t really thrilled his fantasy managers yet either. But against a Chicago defense that saw Bryce Young cut right through it like a Rockin’ Roller Coaster in Week 1, I don’t mind trotting out Hurts for another start.

Running Back

Saquon Barkley: START, RB1 (if healthy)
Tank Bigsby: SIT, START, RB1 (if Barkley sits)

Saquon Barkley‘s 5.53 yards per carry in Week 1 was great, but he suffered a shoulder nerve stinger in Week 2 and left early, carrying just four times for nine yards. When healthy, Barkley is a locked-in starter, but we’ll have to wait for news before Monday night’s contest in Chicago. Tank Bigsby shouldn’t be started unless Barkley sits, but should be rostered everywhere. Jay called him the best handcuff in fantasy in this article last week. He might just live up to that title in Week 3.

Wide Receiver/Tight End

DeVonta Smith: START, WR1
Dontayvion Wicks: FLEX, WR4

Makai Lemon: SIT
Dallas Goedert: OUT
Zach Ertz: ???

woody telling buzz he can't fly

That was essentially what Jay said about Devonta Smith. “He’s a WR2. He can’t be a WR1.”

Well, I hope he didn’t look at last week’s box score, because Smith looked kind of like an alpha wide receiver. Of course, that was with Dallas Goedert sidelined with an injury and Barkley exiting the game early as well. So really that wasn’t flying as a WR1. That was falling… with style.

Dontayvion Wicks did enough last week with the Eagles missing offensive pieces to make me think he can hold his own as a flex consideration against a weak Bears defense. Six targets, five catches, and 74 yards will do nicely, especially if he finds his way to the end zone this week.

……by gawd, is that Zach Ertz‘s music?! Keep an eye on whether or not the Eagles elevate Ertz for Monday night’s game. He’s a sit this week, but could get enough to be considered a starter in PPR or TEP leagues.

Defense/Special Teams

Philadelphia Eagles: START

Case Keenum by the third quarter against this Eagles pass rush:

Chicago Bears

Quarterback

Caleb Williams: OUT
Tyson
Bagent: OUT
Case Keenum: SIT

For Chicago Bears fans, Keenum might be the worst-Case scenario.

Running Back

D’Andre Swift: START, RB2
Kyle Monangai: FLEX, RB3
Roschon Johnson: SIT

The Philadelphia defense has traditionally been a stalwart against the run, but so far this year it’s just been average against the ground game, ranking 17th in the NFL in fantasy points allowed to running backs. I don’t mind trotting out Swift as an RB2, and I think Monangai has done enough to warrant a FLEX play. The whole offense takes a hit with Keenum under center, but the running backs may be slightly less affected as the Bears could lean into the ground-and-pound attack on Monday night.

Wide Receiver

Rome Odunze: START, WR3
Luther Burden III: FLEX, WR4
Kalif Raymond: SIT

I’m looking at Kalif Raymond like I just tried kombucha for the first time.

Through two weeks, Raymond leads Bears pass-catchers in receptions and yardage, and has posted a 60% snap share or better in both games. But I can’t. I just… well, I could… No. No, I can’t.

Meanwhile, Rome Odunze saw his snap percentage rise all the way to 84% in Week 2 while Luther Burden III dipped to just 57%. Whether it’s lingering preseason injuries or the true pecking order of this offense, I’m more willing to roll with Rome than I am to let Luther linger in my lineup. Both get a downgrade with Case Keenum starting at quarterback.

Tight End

Colston Loveland: START, TE1
Cole Kmet: SIT

Colston Loveland is Space Mountain. It’s not as much fun now as you remember it being the last time you were here. But you’re still going to ride it because you have to. Like, it’s a written rule that you can’t leave without riding Space Mountain. You HAVE to. Oh, by the way, the Eagles have allowed the second-fewest fantasy points to opposing tight ends through two weeks. Okay, have fun on the ride!

Defense/Special Teams

Chicago Bears: SIT

They didn’t allow a touchdown to the Minnesota Vikings in a weather-affected game last week, but I don’t trust this defense yet, and I’m not interested in attacking a Philadelphia Eagles offense that has weapons to put up points.
