Baltimore Ravens
Quarterback
Lamar Jackson: START, QB1
You’re starting Lamar Jackson. Lamar isn’t a Disney ride. He’s the closest thing we’ll ever get to that one Nike commercial that featured the “Michael Vick Experience.”
Running Back
Derrick Henry: START, RB1
Justice Hill: SIT
The Baltimore Ravens held a 14-3 lead entering the second half of Week 2’s game against the Saints and Derrick Henry got five second-half carries as New Orleans completed an 11-point comeback win. Henry isn’t a Disney ride either. He’s the screaming infant that the Disney parents insisted needed to experience the park for the first time even though the poor child won’t remember a single thing from the entire trip. Feed him early and often, or you’re going to have a bad time.
Wide Receiver
Zay Flowers: START, WR1
Rashod Bateman: SIT (WR3/FLEX if Flowers OUT)
Devontez Walker: SIT
Ja’Kobi Lane: OUT
With Zay Flowers out for Week 2, Rashod Bateman led the team in targets, receptions, and yards, finishing with a solid 7/88/1 performance. If Flowers plays, the 29% target share he owned after playing just two quarters in Week 1 leaves just scraps for the rest of the Ravens’ receiving corps. If he sits, all that fantasy goodness is up for grabs, and Bateman has shown a penchant for snatching up a good chunk of it. Devontez Walker is the Ravens’ version of Tyquan Thornton – big plays only – and is an extra-deep league or DFS boom/bust option if Flowers sits.
Tight End
Mark Andrews: STREAMER, TE1/2 Borderline (START, TE1 if Flowers is OUT)
In Flowers’ absence, Mark Andrews brought in six catches on seven targets for 49 yards and looked like a major part of the Ravens’ offensive game plan. He’s not the same dynamic tight end he once was, but as long as the hands don’t betray him (again (again)), he ought to be a low-end TE1 type, even with Flowers in.
Defense/Special Teams
Baltimore Ravens: START
Even against a high-powered Dallas offense, the Ravens defense and special teams is probably too good of a unit to sit on the bench unless you have another strong unit with a better matchup just lying around. Not sure who has that kind of luxury, but if you got it, flaunt it.
Dallas Cowboys
Quarterback
Dak Prescott: START, QB1
Dak Prescott should finish in the top eight fantasy quarterbacks this week, despite playing against a tough Ravens defense in Rio de Janeiro. Coming off of an Honest Abe (Four Scores!) against a bad Commanders defense in Week 2, Prescott is surrounded with weapons and is too good to bench. Could he put up another dud like Week 1? Sure, but with the highest implied point total on the whole slate, it’s a chance I’m willing to take.
Running Back
Javonte Williams: START, RB2
Emari Demercado: SIT
The Ravens have been a traditionally stout rushing defense with big uglies in the trenches to hold the O-line and free up roaming linebackers to make tackles on the ball carrier. In Week 1, Jonathan Taylor and the Colts solved them on the ground for nearly 100 yards and two scores, but last week Baltimore tightened up the ground game, allowing less than 3.0 yards per carry against an army of Saints ball carriers. That said, I like Javonte Williams as an RB2 for his elite volume, but don’t expect him to pop off for 100 yards rushing and two scores.
Wide Receiver
CeeDee Lamb: START, WR1
George Pickens: START, WR2
You’re not sitting either CeeDee Lamb or George Pickens, although Pickens is starting to make managers think twice after another lackluster performance. Lamb is the Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters – so much fun and excitement every time, and all you’re worried about is how many points you can rack up. Pickens is the Mad Tea Party (that’s what they call the teacups, get with the program). It was really cool when you rode it last time, but now you’re back on and starting to get a little tummy tumble. Ride it too many more times, and you might get sick. Not to hammer the point home, but Vegas loves this game as a high-scoring matchup (and so do we!), meaning it’s a great get-right spot for Pickens.
Tight End
Jake Ferguson: START, TE1
Ferguson caught a pair of touchdown passes against the Commanders, and that’s cool, I guess. He’s a catch-and-fall-down tight end on a high-powered offense with one of the highest implied point totals on the week. He ascends just above streamer territory, but don’t be surprised if he gets swallowed by tHe gLoB at some point this season.
Defense/Special Teams
Dallas Cowboys: SIT
