New York Jets
Quarterback
Geno Smith: SIT, QB2 (Startable in Superflex)
Geno Smith is doing exactly what he needs to do for the Jets, and he can also do the same for your fantasy team. He’s not setting the world on fire, but he is inside the top 10 in passing yards per game and has only four passing touchdowns but no picks. He’s even chipping in 12 yards per game on the ground. But throwing the ball 34 times a game and a top-three EPA per dropback, Geno is as safe as they come for Superflex leagues against the Bears. Just avoid in 1QB.
Running Back
Breece Hall: Likely OUT
Braelon Allen: START, RB2
Isaiah Davis: SIT
Nothing was made official about Breece Hall‘s status for Week 4 at the time of writing, but he wasn’t practicing and is expected to miss time. With Hall on the sideline, Braelon Allen finally gets his turn as the lead back for the Jets, and immediately slots in as an RB2. We’ve seen flashes from Allen before, but he had no explosive plays and a yards per carry under 3.3. He’s a volume-based play with a solid floor, but don’t over-exaggerate the ceiling.
Wide Receiver
Garrett Wilson: START, WR1
Adonai Mitchell: OUT
Isaiah Williams: SIT
It’s him. He’s back. All Garrett Wilson needed was a little TLC to creep right back into WR1. Twenty-seven targets through the first three games and touchdowns in back-to-back games; he’s no scrub. If this type of production keeps up, he’ll join the “Fun Fact/Start ’em Sort ’em” group soon. Please, Geno. I ain’t too proud to beg. But don’t go chasing waterfalls with Adonai Mitchell after his 12-target Week 2. He’s still not practicing at the time of writing and is expected to miss Week 4. Unpretty.
Tight End
Kenyon Sadiq: SIT
Mason Taylor: SIT
I think I saw a man fly.

I mean catching your first career NFL touchdown is pretty cool on its own. But to do it like that? My goodness. Sadiq’s star potential was shining on Sunday, but that was without both Mitchell and Mason Taylor active in a great matchup. There’s a better-than-average chance both miss again on Sunday, but da Bears are a bottom-10 fantasy matchup for tight ends and not allowed at touchdown yet. Which kinda works for Sadiq anyway, since he only has one endzone target this season. It’s tempting, I know. He should be rostered, but I’m shying away from starting Sadiq.

New York Jets: SIT JK JK START

Chicago Bears
Quarterback
Caleb Williams: OUT
Case Keenum: SIT
Although Caleb Williams hasn’t officially been declared out for Week 4, I have a better chance of starting for the Bears than he does. In steps the gunslinger Case Keenum. Cue western showdown music. Just like we all predicted, Keenum came in and threw two touchdowns on Monday Night against the Eagles. Keenum had previously thrown a total of one touchdown since 2023, the last time he played a regular-season snap.

His kids had never seen him play. What a cute story. But you don’t get cute. Don’t do it.
Running Back
D’Andre Swift: START, RB2
Kyle Monangai: FLEX
Roschon Johnson: SIT
D’Andre Swift is averaging over 20 opportunities per game, sporting a yards per carry over 4.5, an explosive run rate over 5.5, and yards after contact per attempt over 2.5. (You thought 6.5 was coming. Didn’t ya.) Nearly averaging 20 fantasy points per game, Swift is a borderline RB1/high end RB2 and is starting nearly every week. Kyle Monangai hasn’t done a whole lot since his Week 1 20-point outburst, but he’s FLEX-worthy, averaging 10 carries a game. The Jets are a top-10 fantasy matchup at the position and have already given up four touchdowns to the position.
Wide Receiver
Luther Burden III: START, WR3
Rome Odunze: FLEX
Kalif Raymond: FLEX
Rome is burning, and it’s not because of Luther Burden III. Sure, Burden is averaging a team high 7. targets per game and found the endzone, but so did Kalif Raymond. The 32 year old journeyman is currently out-targeting Rome Odunze by more than two targets and more than doubling his fantasy points per game. While I don’t expect that to hold all season, for now, I consider them on equal footing as FLEX plays.
Tight End
Colston Loveland: SIT
Yup, we’ve gotta do this now. Loveland had his best game of the season with Case Keenum under center and just missed finding the end zone again, but we need to see some flashes of upside before we feel comfortable trusting him in our lineups again. He’s my TE16 this week, so hopefully that’s enough to motivate him to a big breakout performance. This is why you don’t pay up for tight ends in drafts. Can someone set a calendar reminder for me next year?
Defense/Special Teams
Chicago Bears: STREAMER
After getting whalloped by the Panthers in Week 1, the Bears have held the Vikings and Eagles under 10 points in back-to-back games.
