Las Vegas Raiders

Quarterback

Kirk Cousins: SIT, QB2 (Startable in Superflex)

One of the quarterbacks in this matchup is a top 10 fantasy QB this season, and he’s not wearing a Patriots uniform. Kirk Cousins continues to slang that thang, tossing two more tuddys to total 11 on the season compared to just four picks. I don’t know how long Kirko Chainz can keep this up, but while he is, I don’t mind starting him in Superflex and potentially 1QB in the right matchup. The Pats are more of the former, so don’t trot him out everywhere just yet.

Running Back

Ashton Jeanty: START, RB1
Mike Washington Jr: SIT
Dylan Laube: SIT

Ashton Jeanty is on the fast track to becoming one of those guys I don’t actually write anything fantasy-related about, just the ones I make terrible jokes about. Jeanty is RB10 on the season and has yet to get in the end zone on the ground. His 3.4 yards per carry is a bit concerning, but as long as he’s seeing nearly 20 carries a game and six targets, it’ll be just fine. Mike Washington Jr. can be used as a FLEX when the matchup is right, but that’s not this.

Wide Receiver

Tre Tucker: START, WR3
Jalen Nailor: SIT
Cody White: SIT

While Kirko Chainz is playing this well, consider Tre Tucker a WR3 thanks to his ~17% target share and seven deep targets. He’s boom/bust, but the boom will come eventually. No other Raiders receivers should be rostered in fantasy.

Tight End

Brock Bowers: START, TE1

Brock Bowers is locked into your lineup each and every week. There’s something very Mouse Trap about him. Elite when you can actually find all the pieces, but oftentimes something is broken or missing.

Defense/Special Teams

Las Vegas Raiders: STREAMER

Um… dear Mr. Editor sir… does recommending the Raiders as a streamer mean I have to eat socks?

Editor’s note: yes. I’ll grab the Worcestershire sauce.

New England Patriots

Quarterback

Drake Maye: START, QB1

If it weren’t for byes and the rash of injuries at the position, the struggling Drake Maye wouldn’t be anywhere near a QB1 in Week 5. He threw three touchdowns against the Bills but threw his seventh interception of the season and lost a fumble for the second game in a row. In a middle-of-the-road matchup, start Maye across the board. And Pray.

Running Back

Rhamondre Stevenson: START, RB2
Treveyon Henderson: FLEX, RB3
Corey Kiner: SIT

Treveyon Henderson had 14 carries, which was nice. Henderson had 4.2 fantasy points, which wasn’t nice. Rhamondre Stevenson had one fewer carry but is handling 82.7% of the third-down snaps and a 13.6% target share. Stevenson has 50% of the goal line carries compared to Hendo’s zero. Stevenson maintains RB2 status, and Henderson slides back a bit to a home run-hitting FLEX.

Wide Receiver

Romeo Doubs: START, WR3
Demario Douglas: SIT
Mack Hollins: SIT

Romeo Doubs, yes, that Romeo Doubs, caught six of nine targets with two coming in the red zone to total 23.8 fantasy points in Week 4. Context is key, however. It was Doubs’ third 20+ point game of his entire career, came against the Bills’ swiss cheese defense, and the Pats lost Mack Hollins in the game. Doubs is worth the gamble at WR3 based on the volume he’ll see.

Tight End

Hunter Henry: STREAMER

It feels really gross to recommend Hunter Henry as a streamer, but it’s a top 10 matchup, and there’s a good chance the Pats will be down Mack Hollins due to his calf injury.

Defense/Special Teams

New England Patriots: STREAMER

Kirk has to turn into a pumpkin eventually… right?
