Chicago Bears
Quarterback
Caleb Williams: OUT
Tyson Bagent: SIT
Tyson Bagent is starting for the Bears in Week 5. He hasn’t thrown a touchdown pass since 2023. You do the math.
Running Back
Kyle Monangai: START, RB2
D’Andre Swift: START, RB2
Roschon Johnson: SIT
Kyle Monangai took advantage of D’Andre Swift‘s benching after losing a fumble, with the former seeing a whopping 30 carries for 146 rushing yards and getting in the end zone twice. It isn’t a situation where Monangai has leapfrogged Swift, but he’s seen at least 10 carries in every game, and likely earned a few more. Chicago gets a juicy matchup against the Packers, who allow the 2nd most points to the position. Fire both Bears backs up as RB2s as long as they’re playing, as both are nursing minor injuries this week.
Wide Receiver
Luther Burden III: START, WR2
Rome Odunze: START, WR3
Kalif Raymond: FLEX
There are a lot of mouths to feed in Chicago, and they’re basically being fed with a baby spoon while Caleb Williams remains sidelined. Luther Burden III leads the team with a 24% target share and games of 10+ points in three of four. Kalif Raymond is right behind him in target share and is coming off a 2.6 point stinker, but don’t drop him just yet. Rome Odunze had his first game over eight points in Week 4 and led the team in just about everything. Odunze and Raymond’s target shares are creeping closer with each passing week, and I expect them to flip before long, but in this high-powered offense (when fully healthy), Raymond should and could maintain FLEX value.
Tight End
Colston Loveland: START, TE1
Colston Loveland doubled his season-long target total in Week 4 and turned in his first double-digit performance of the season. He’s starting to warm up after a frigid start to the season and a borderline TE1 in a middle-of-the-road matchup against the Pack. He seems to be this close to scoring a touchdown every single week and has to break through at some point. Right?
Defense/Special Teams
Chicago Bears: START
The Bears allow the fourth fewest points and the third fewest passing yards in the NFL.
Green Bay Packers
Quarterback
Jordan Love: START, Borderline QB1
Jordan Love is an enigma this season, throwing the ball nearly 40 times per game and getting two touchdown passes in each despite a sub-60 completion percentage and two games under 200 yards passing. The Bears blitz a ton and have shut quarterbacks down from Week 2 on. But Love will chuck it enough and has the weapons to remain a borderline QB1.
Running Back
MarShawn Lloyd: SIT
Kaleb Johnson: SIT
Chris Brooks: SIT
No Packers running back has scored double-digit fantasy points this season.
Wide Receiver
Christian Watson: START, WR1
Matthew Golden: START, WR2
Skyy Moore: SIT
Both Christian Watson and Matthew Golden are commanding over 20% of the team’s targets, and that’s with Jordan Love throwing nearly 40 times per game. The matchup isn’t great, with the Bears allowing the fourth-fewest points to the position and not allowing a 100-yard receiver since Jalen Coker in Week 1. But with that kind of volume, both are starting for you week in and week out.
Tight End
Tucker Kraft: START, TE1
Patience with Tucker Kraft paid off in Week 4, coming down with his first touchdown of the season and his second straight game with seven or more targets. Similar to the receivers, it’s a tough draw against the Bears, but Kraft’s volume and red zone usage despite some nasty drops keeps him a start.
Defense/Special Teams
Green Bay Packers: SIT
Even with Bagent under center, I’m not starting a defense that ranks top 10 in points allowed per game and averages 1 takeaway per game.
