San Francisco 49ers
Quarterback
Brock Purdy: START, QB1
Brock Purdy is matchup-proof. There. I said it. I don’t care if he’s facing Seattle’s ridiculous secondary and they allow the 2nd fewest points to the position. Purdy in Shanny’s system is still an easy fantasy start, even though he likely adds to that single interception total he has so far.
Running Back
Christian McCaffrey: START, RB1
Kaelon Black: SIT
Jordan James: SIT
Christian McCaffrey doesn’t need a Start/Sit debate. He just needs to be healthy. There’s something very Cones of Dunshire about McCaffrey. There are a thousand different ways to play it, but in the end, it’s all about the cones.
We haven’t quite seen the same ceiling we’re used to seeing with CMC, but he’s one of the most likely touchdown scorers any given week and has seen at least four targets in every game this season. I’d like to see a little more efficiency, though.
Wide Receiver
Mike Evans: START, WR2
Deebo Samuel Sr: START, WR3
Jacob Cowing: SIT
Both Mike Evans and Deebo Samuel are averaging over 12 points per game, but Seattle is the second-worst matchup for wide receivers. They’ve given up two touchdowns to the position all year. You’re obviously firing both of these guys up, but their floors are lower than normal.
Tight End
George Kittle: START, TE1
It’s a tough matchup against a Seattle defense barely allowing 10 points per game to opposing tight ends, but this is George Kittle. With over 16 points per game and a 20% target share, he’s a weekly TE1 without question.
Defense/Special Teams
San Francisco 49ers: SIT
The Niners allow the third fewest points per game, but that doesn’t pay much in fantasy without sacks and turnovers. San Fran is tied for the fewest per game in both.
Seattle Seahawks
Quarterback
Sam Darnold: SIT, QB2 (Startable in Superflex)
It’s hard to rank Sam Darnold as a QB2 in a game projected to push 50 points, but the 49ers have allowed just five touchdowns through the air and allow just 16 points per game to opposing offenses. Seattle likely leans on Emanuel Wilson in this one.
Running Back
Emanuel Wilson: START, RB2
George Holani: SIT
Emanuel Wilson got into the end zone twice against the Chargers, making the most of his 25 touches to the tune of 27 fantasy points. With Jadarian Price on IR, Zach Charbonnet not ready to return, and Joe Mixon winding up not healthy enough to sign, Wilson is in for another heavy workload in a fantastic matchup. He should be started anywhere he’s rostered.
Wide Receiver
Jaxon Smith-Njigba: START, WR1
Rashid Shaheed: SIT
Cooper Kupp: SIT
You drafted Jaxon Smith-Njigba so you wouldn’t have to overthink this. The more you think about it, the more you realize JSN is basically Yahtzee. Whether he’s rolling all sixes or putting together a 40-point large straight, he can beat you in an infinite number of ways.
Tight End
AJ Barner: SIT
AJ Barner has two or fewer catches in three of four games and gets a bottom-six fantasy matchup.
Defense/Special Teams
Seattle Seahawks: STREAMER
Seattle is holding opponents under 250 total yards per game, the lowest in the league. But the 49ers haven’t allowed a sack all year and barely give the ball away, keeping the Seahawks in Streamer status.
