Quarterback
Trevor Lawrence: START, QB1
Sitting with the second-most passing TDs at 17 despite averaging less than 250 passing yards per game, the only thing that could stop Trevor Lawrence from having a gigantic performance against the hapless Ravens defense is their likely hapless offense. Baltimore has just four interceptions on the season and ranks top 12 in both points allowed and passing yards allowed per game. Joe Fagnano was named the starter for Thursday Night’s matchup with Lamar Jackson set for thumb surgery (likely out for the season) and Tyler Huntley likely headed for the IR. If the Ravens fail to get any sort of offense going, the Jags can easily ride the run game to victory. It’s worth noting that the Jags have been quick to pull their franchise QB in games that are over early (a smart move!), so the risk of a full game being cut short is there. That being said, Lawrence should still get in enough production to continue starting him as a QB1, even if the Ravens roll over in this one.
Running Back
Bhayshul Tuten: START, RB1
Chris Rodriguez Jr.: SIT
LeQuint Allen Jr.: SIT
Back-to-back 24+ point games for Bhayshul Tuten should have those who roster him doing the Boot Tuten Boogie. But he’s yet to practice this week at the time of writing, and his status for Thursday night is uncertain. If he’s active, he’s in your lineup, but he’s looking like a true game-time decision. If he sits, Chris Rodriguez Jr. would likely shoulder most of the load and should be a fine plug-and-play option on the RB2/3 borderline.
Wide Receiver
Parker Washington: START, WR1
Jakobi Meyers: FLEX, WR4
Brian Thomas Jr: SIT
Since his 30-yard catch vs. Philly, Parker Washington has followed up with two gross games of 10.4 and 3.6 PPR points. There’s no doubt he’s the Jags WR1 with nearly a quarter of the target share and leading the team in average depth of target, red zone targets, first-read targets, and deep targets. But his erratic stats push him to more of a high-end WR2 versus a weekly WR1. But Baltimore is a juicy matchup and allows nearly 13 catches per game to receivers. Jakobi Meyers is banged up and startable at FLEX given the matchup if active. Brian Thomas Jr. is the latest player to get lost in the upside-down.
Tight End
Brenton Strange: tHe gLoB
Brenton Strange went into the bye with three straight games of at least seven targets and flailed out of it with just two. He did turn them into 55 yards but has one touchdown all year. Baltimore is tied for the fifth-most touchdowns allowed to tight ends, so there’s a path, but Strange is certainly in tHe gLoB.
Defense/Special Teams
Jacksonville Jaguars: START
Jacksonville allows the second-fewest points per game and has the third-most takeaways, while Baltimore is starting Joey Fatone at quarterback. Fire them up.
Baltimore Ravens
Quarterback
Lamar Jackson: OUT
Tyler Huntley: OUT
Joe Fagnano: SIT
Le sigh. Lamar Jackson threw just one pass on Sunday, forced to leave the game with a thumb injury, which would wind up needing surgery and probably costing him the season. Well, at least they have Tyler Huntley, right? About that… Huntley left the game in the second quarter with a toe injury and is expected to be IR-bound, leaving things up to Joe Fagnano. The third stringer completed less than 50% of his pass attempts and didn’t get into the end zone. He was dealing with a knee injury of his own, but he was announced as the starter for Thursday’s game. He should not be announced as the starter for anybody’s fantasy team, though. Even his mom’s.
Running Back
Derrick Henry: START, RB2
Justice Hill: FLEX, RB4
Derrick Henry is still Derrick Henry. You could put Big Bird at quarterback, and you’re still starting Henry in fantasy. He’s been rumored as a trade candidate and could find himself in a much better situation, but if he remains in Baltimore, his floor and ceiling both take a major hit from where they were with Lamar in the lineup. Justice Hill becomes an interesting FLEX option with Fagnano under center. Hill saw a season-high eight targets on Sunday and should be in line for plenty of check-down work.
Wide Receiver/Tight End
Zay Flowers: START, WR2
Rashod Bateman: SIT
Ja’Kobi Lane: SIT
Mark Andrews: SIT
Zay Flowers is the lone Ravens pass catcher even remotely startable, even with his Week 8 goose egg at Buffalo. Baltimore will certainly scheme ways to get the ball into Flowers’ hands, and he has the explosiveness to make things happen all on his own. He’s a risky WR2, but still worth starting against a Jags defense allowing the fourth-most catches to the position. Mark Andrews is officially droppable.
Defense/Special Teams
Baltimore Ravens: SIT
The Ravens are 10-point underdogs at home facing a top-five offense. What do you think?
