New Orleans Saints
Quarterback
Tyler Shough: SIT
The Dolphins are a decent matchup for QBs, allowing the 10th-most points to the position, but I can’t in good conscience recommend starting Tyler Shough when all 32 teams are playing. He’s broken the 10-point threshold just once this season.
Running Back
Alvin Kamara: FLEX, RB3
Devin Neal: SIT | FLEX, RB3 (If Kamara Out)
At the time of writing, it’s uncertain if Alvin Kamara will be able to suit up against the Dolphins after sustaining a knee injury in Week 12. It’s a shame, as the Dolphins present a plus matchup, ranking among the most exploitable defenses in terms of yards allowed, yards per carry, and explosive run rate. Kamara is past his super-explosive days, but would still be a low-end RB2 or solid flex if active given the matchup. If he can’t go, Devin Neal is the guy you want to add, and would have that same RB2-flex appeal. In relief of Kamara, Neal logged seven carries for just 18 yards, but also caught five of seven targets for 43 yards. The seven targets are more than Kamara has seen in any game this season. I imagine we’ll also unfortunately see a healthy dose of Taysom Hill taking carries. Please don’t make it too many, Kellen Moore.
Wide Receiver
Chris Olave: START, WR2
Devaughn Vele: SIT
Mason Tipton: SIT
Chris Olave and Shough appear to be improving on their connection, as the duo made good on nine of 13 targets last week against the Falcons. Olave is far and away the best receiving option for the Saints, but he will have a tough test against a Dolphins secondary that includes Minkah Fitzpatrick and Rasul Douglas. We anticipate the volume will be there for Olave, keeping him as a solid WR2 in any matchup, but he may have to work a little harder to get there.
Tight End
Juwan Johnson: START, TE1
Taysom Hill: SIT
The second-best pass catcher for the Saints has been Juwan Johnson, who has five straight games with 10 or more PPR points and now gets a matchup with the defense allowing the third-most points to the position. Johnson is second on the team with six red-zone targets, and no other player besides Olave has more than two. His volume gives him a solid floor, and the matchup gives him an opportunity for a spike week.
Defense/Special Teams
New Orleans Saints: START
The Saints only have 13 takeaways on the season, but they get a gift in facing the league co-leader in interceptions in Tua Tagovailoa. The Saints are a solid hold for the rest of the season as well, with matchups against the Panthers, Jets, and Titans in the fantasy playoffs.
Miami Dolphins
Quarterback
Tua Tagovailoa: SIT, QB2 (startable in Superflex)
It’s a middle-of-the-road matchup for Tua Tagovailoa, but with a full slate of games, you’re likely better off avoiding a player with 13 interceptions under his belt. The Saints have allowed 20 passing touchdowns, good for a tie for ninth-most in the NFL, so there is at least some chance of upside if you need to roll with him in Superflex formats.
Running Back
De’Von Achane: START, RB1
Ollie Gordon II: SIT
Jaylen Wright: SIT
De’Von Achane is like a homemade apple pie. No matter how stressful traveling home for Thanksgiving can be, you always know you have something to look forward to, and it never disappoints. Watching the 2025 Dolphins is a very similar experience. The usage for Ollie Gordon, meanwhile, isn’t consistent enough to warrant a start in any format, but he remains a premier handcuff.
Wide Receiver
Jaylen Waddle: START, WR2
Nick Westbrook-Ikhine: SIT
Malik Washington: SIT
It’s a good matchup for Jaylen Waddle, who feasts on zone and single-high coverage schemes, both of which the Saints run at a higher rate compared to league average. Waddle’s yards per route run against those schemes are a full yard higher than man or two-high coverage, giving Waddle a high-end WR2 ranking with WR1 upside. None of the other Dolphins receivers are particularly intriguing, but Malik Washington is your next-best option if you need a deep league dart throw.
Tight End
Greg Dulcich: SIT
EXTREME desperation streamer territory. Darren Waller may be back soon, though, so keep an eye on that.
Defense/Special Teams
Miami Dolphins: STREAMER (two weeks)
The Dolphins don’t have an excellent fantasy defense, but matchups against Shough and then the Jets the next two weeks give them some appeal if you’re in a bind.
