Arizona Cardinals
Quarterback
Jacoby Brissett: START, QB1
Jacoby Brisett failed to throw multiple touchdowns for the first time since taking over as Arizona’s starter, but he threw for over 300 yards in his second straight and had 40 pass attempts in his third straight. The Bucs have gotten smoked by quarterbacks since their Week 9 bye. Tampa Bay’s allowed a whopping 11 total touchdowns to QBs over its last three, over half of them coming from some guy named Josh Allen. Brisket Brissett is locked in as an every-week Superflex starter, and against the Bucs slips into the back end of the QB1s.
Running Back
Trey Benson: START, RB2 (needs to be activated off IR)
Bam Knight: SIT | FLEX, RB3 (if Benson inactive)
Emari Demercado: SIT
Michael Carter: SIT
It’s no guarantee, but it looks like Trey Benson should return against the Bucs in Week 13. He was practicing in limited fashion leading up to Week 12, and his return was teased. It would be a shock if he didn’t return. Bam Knight scored 13 or more points in two straight games, but needed a rushing touchdown to get there. If Benson’s back, bye-bye, Bam. Straight to the bench. If Benson isn’t able to return, Knight is a flex option against Tampa Bay, which has given up four total touchdowns to running backs since Week 10. Emari Demercado missed Week 12, and his status is uncertain for Week 13, but regardless, he and Michael Carter aren’t startable in any format.
Wide Receiver
Marvin Harrison Jr.: START, WR2
Michael Wilson: START, WR3 | WR2 (If Harrison Inactive)
Greg Dortch: SIT | FLEX, WR4 (If Harrison Inactive)
At the time of writing, there was no word if Marvin Harrison Jr. would be able to return in Week 13. But in his absence, Michael Wilson has been absurd. A week after seeing 18 targets, Wilson saw 15 against the Jags, catching 10 for 118 yards, certainly earning himself a role when MHJ returns. Both should be in your lineup against the Bucs (if active). Since Week 10, Tampa Bay has given up 1.98 yards per route run (third-highest) and a league-leading eight passing touchdowns. Greg Dortch caught six passes and scored a touchdown in his second straight game, and if MHJ is out again is a startable flex.
Tight End
Trey McBride: START, TE1
Trey McBride is a staple of your lineup, but did you know that in 2024, he volunteered at the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Scottsdale’s Teen Thanksgiving Dinner? He spent time serving meals and connecting personally with the teens during the holiday week.
Defense/Special Teams
Arizona Cardinals: START
Arizona ranks fifth in forced turnovers and face either Baker Mayfield with a bum shoulder or Teddy Bridgewater in the year of our Lord 2025.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Quarterback
Baker Mayfield: SIT, QB2 (startable in Superflex)
Teddy Bridgewater: SIT
At the time of writing, Baker Mayfield was diagnosed with a sprained left shoulder and was awaiting an MRI to see how much time he would miss, if any. There’s a wide range of outcomes here, but so far, things sound optimistic. Mayfield could play Week 13 against the Cardinals, but even if he’s able to suit up, he’s only an option in Superflex leagues. The Cardinals are the 10th-toughest matchup for opposing quarterbacks, but have wavered recently, giving up six passing touchdowns in their last two games. If Mayfield misses and you’re having to consider starting Teddy Bridgewater, I’m sorry.
Running Back
Bucky Irving: START, RB1
Sean Tucker: FLEX, RB3
Rachaad White: SIT
Bucky Irving is expected to practice all week, which is an excellent indication he’s got a real shot to return against Arizona. Irvings is the type of talent; if he’s active, he’s in your lineup. Period. Limited snaps, tough matchup, missing a limb, it doesn’t matter. Sean Tucker came back down to earth against the Rams, although he did lead the Bucs with 42 rushing yards. With or without an active Irving, Tucker makes for a fine FLEX. Arizona is a great matchup, allowing 142.3 rushing yards per game and four rushing touchdowns over their last three. But even without Irving, Tucker is too inconsistent to consider anything more. Did you know that Rachaad White is now a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe? Because his fantasy value was eradicated by “The Snap” from Thanos.
Wide Receiver
Emeka Egbuka: START, WR2
Tez Johnson: FLEX, WR4
Chris Godwin Jr.: SIT
Emeka Egbuka, I’m sorry, but I can no longer keep you in “fun fact” status. I know, I know, it hurts me, too. But you’ve scored fewer than 10 fantasy points in five of your last six games, have just one game over 60 receiving yards during that stretch, and very well could have Bridgewater under center this week. Your target volume has been elite, averaging over 10 per game in that span. It’s not you, it’s … well, yes … it actually is you. Not your talent, but your recent production. Please forgive me. With a difficult matchup against a Cardinals defense that hasn’t allowed a 100-yard receiver since Week 5, I had to rank you as a WR2 this week as well. Ugh. RIGHT in the feels. As for you, Tez Johnson, you’ve sunk to a touchdown-dependent flex right before our eyes. Chris Godwin? Godspeed, my friend. It hasn’t been your day. Your week. Your month. Or even your year
Tight End
Cade Otton: tHe gLoB
Expect somewhere in the range of three to five catches, 30-50 yards, and pray for a tuddy.
Defense/Special Teams
Tampa Bay Buccaneers: SIT
The Bucs’ defense is giving up an average of 35.3 points per game over the last three.
