Buffalo Bills
Quarterback
Josh Allen: START, QB1
Lock Josh Allen into your lineup right meow, but did you know that during the 2022 holiday season, he teamed up with an organization called ForgiveCo to help eliminate over $10 million in consumer debt for families in Buffalo, Wyoming, and his home state of California?
Running Back
James Cook: START, RB1
Ty Johnson: SIT
Ray Davis: SIT
James Cook showed exactly why he’s an RB1 regardless of matchup against the Texans. Houston came into the game without allowing a single running back to rush over 75 yards, and Cook cheffed up 116 against them. It’s another tough matchup for the Bills back. Pittsburgh gives up the fifth-fewest points to the position and has not allowed a 100-yard rusher since Week 7. But as we saw last week, it doesn’t matter. It’s always James Cook RB1 season.
Wide Receiver
Khalil Shakir: START, WR2
Elijah Moore: SIT
Joshua Palmer: SIT
If you’re looking for Keon Coleman, check the healthy inactive list. There’s no word on whether he’ll be inactive for a third straight game, but his lack of production and Buffalo’s lack of faith make him unstartable and, honestly, unrosterable at this point. Khalil Shakir followed up his 0.7-point performance with his first 100-yard receiving game and highest fantasy total of the year. His ceiling is limited, but Shakir’s role in the offense and matchup against a Steelers defense allowing the second-most points to the position create just the right scenario to put him in WR2 range. You’re not starting any other Bills receivers.
Tight End
Dalton Kincaid: START, TE1
Dalton Kincaid has missed two straight games with a bum hammy, but his chances to return this week are favorable. Kincaid was alternating weeks over and under 10 fantasy points, and he’s due for double digits again. In all seriousness, the Steelers allow the fifth-most points to the position, making Kincaid a locked-in TE1 if he’s able to suit up. If he’s not, look elsewhere for TE.
Defense/Special Teams
Buffalo Bills: SIT
The Bills have given up multiple touchdowns to Tua Tagovailoa, Baker Mayfield, and Davis Mills in consecutive weeks.
Pittsburgh Steelers
Quarterback
Aaron Rodgers
Aaron Rodgers was pushing to play in Week 12 and should suit up in a key game against Buffalo. Even with the Bills giving up multiple scores to quarterbacks in three straight weeks, they’ve allowed the sixth-fewest fantasy points to quarterbacks this season. Buffalo’s held four of the last five quarterbacks faced under 200 passing yards. Rodgers had thrown one touchdown in three straight games before sitting out last week, which is better left for Superflex leagues.
Running Back
Jaylen Warren: START, RB2
Kenneth Gainwell: FLEX, RB3
Jaylen Warren still handled the majority of early-down work, but Kenneth Gainwell once again handled the majority of third downs, all of the 2-minute drill, and two goal-line carries to Warren’s one. They both had phenomenal fantasy days, which isn’t a surprise against Chicago. Gainwell averaged nearly 10 yards per carry, rushing for 92 yards on 10 attempts and catching six of six targets for 30 yards.
Kenneth Gainwell hit a top speed of 20.43 on this huge 55-yard gain, per @NextGenStats 🔥

This is why it’s important to look at more than just the box score. Of Gainwell’s 92 rushing yards, 55 came on a fake tush push that looked right out of the Ravens’ playbook. Warren saw an extra eight carries and did get into the end zone, but only gained 68 yards. Gainwell’s increased involvement caps Warren’s ceiling, but he remains an RB2 with a juicy matchup against the Bills. Gainwell has played himself into extra touches and flex viability for fantasy.Â
Wide Receiver
DK Metcalf: START, WR3
Calvin Austin III: SIT
DK Metcalf tweaked his ankle in the second quarter against Cincinnati, but returned to the game, just to reaggravate it in the third. There weren’t any official practice reports for the Steelers at the time of writing, but expectations are that he’ll be limited all week but suit up Sunday. If he’s able to go, he’s a boom-or-bust WR3. The dynamite could go boom in Buffalo, as the Bills have given up four touchdowns of 20 or more yards since Week 10.
Tight End
Pat Freiermuth: SIT
Jonnu Smith: SIT
Darnell Washington: SIT
Want to start one of the Steelers tight ends? Ask your dog to pick. If you don’t have a dog, ask your cat. If you don’t have a cat, ask your guinea pig. If you don’t have a guinea pig, ask your bird. If you don’t have a bird, GOOD, because birds aren’t real.
Defense/Special Teams
Pittsburgh Steelers: SIT
