Minnesota Vikings

Quarterback

J.J. McCarthy: SIT
Max Brosmer: SIT

In the words of Kevin McCallister, WOOF. J.J. McCarthy threw two picks for the third straight game and finished with just 87 passing yards Week 12 against Green Bay. McCarthy self-reported concussion symptoms after the game was in concussion protocol at the time of writing. That sets the stage for undrafted rookie Max Brosmer (totally not made up) to start for the Vikings in Seattle on Sunday. Regardless of who’s under center for Minnesota, neither should be anywhere near your starting lineup.

Running Back

Aaron Jones Sr.: SIT
Jordan Mason: SIT

The matching workload and inefficiency of Aaron Jones and Jordan Mason, paired with the abysmal state of the Vikings offense, keep both backs from being startable in fantasy in Week 13. Seattle gives up the eighth fewest points to the position and has given up four rushing touchdowns to backs all year.

Wide Receiver

Justin Jefferson: START, WR2
Jordan Addison: SIT
Jalen Nailor: SIT

J.J. McCarthy continues to kill the fantasy values of Justin Jefferson and Jordan Addison, and probably would have been benched by now had Carson Wentz not hurt his shoulder. Jefferson caught four passes for 48 yards, and Addison gave us a big fat goose egg. He was targeted once and couldn’t come down with it, which isn’t surprising since he came into the game with a league-low 50% catchable target rate since Week 9. McCarthy shouldn’t be anywhere near a starting lineup anytime soon. It breaks my heart to say this, but JJetta is relegated to a WR2 at no fault of his own. If it were just about anybody else, they’d be a WR3. But I can’t do that considering his talent. Addison now has under 10 points in three of his last five games, and considering there are no byes in Week 13, he’s an easy sit in Seattle.

Tight End

T.J. Hockenson: SIT

T.J. Hockenson has under 20 receiving yards in four of his last five games.

Defense/Special Teams

Minnesota Vikings: SIT

Appropriately enough, the Vikings have forced NINE turnovers this season.

Seattle Seahawks

Quarterback

Sam Darnold: START (in Superflex), Borderline QB1

We all love a revenge-game narrative, but I wouldn’t rush to shove Sam Darnold into all my lineups this week against the Vikings. Minnesota is a bottom-10 fantasy matchup for quarterbacks, allowing three passing touchdowns in their last four games and holding quarterbacks under 200 passing yards in their last three. With the significant chance of a blowout occurring (Seattle was a double-digit favorite at the time of writing), Darnold likely won’t be asked to do much. It’ll be enough to keep Jaxon Smith-Njigba in the WR1 range, but not enough for me to start Darnold in 1QB leagues.

Running Back

Kenneth Walker III: START, RB2
Zach Charbonnet: FLEX, RB3

Kenneth Walker III totaled over 100 yards for the second straight game, rushing for 71 yards and catching three passes for 30 yards. But he had just five more carries than Zach Charbonnet, who once again vultured a touchdown. Walker did see his snap share rise for the third straight game, his first over 60% this season, so there’s still some hope he could end up getting feature-back touches for the stretch run. But Charbs isn’t going to go away completely, likely limiting Walker’s high ceiling if he’d just get the work he deserves. Minnesota just got demolished by Emanuel Wilson and has allowed a rushing touchdown in five straight games, so both backs could see significant work in what should be a dominant Seattle victory.

Wide Receiver

Jaxon Smith-Njigba: START, WR1
Rashid Shaheed: SIT
Cooper Kupp: SIT

Jaxon Smith-Njigba is a weekly must-start, but did you know that he personally hosted a community food drive in Renton, Wash., on Nov. 4? The Seahawks star worked at a Safeway on Fourth Street to collect shelf-stable proteins and baby formula for South King and rural Pierce County free food hubs, helping fill the massive gap left by paused federal benefits.

Tight End

AJ Barner: tHe gLoB

tHe gLoB giveth, and tHe gLoB taketh away.

Defense/Special Teams

Seattle Seahawks

The Seahawks rank fourth in sacks with 36 and face either McCarthy or Max Brosmer.
