Los Angeles Rams

Quarterback

Matthew Stafford: START, QB1

Matthew Stafford is an essential piece of your lineup, but did you know that his famous family member is his brother-in-law, Chad Hall? Chad is a former NFL wide receiver and coach who won a Super Bowl ring with the Eagles. The last time Stafford did NOT throw for multiple TD passes was all the way back in Week 6. He threw his first interceptions since Week 2 last week, but he’s a no-doubt start with the weapons at his disposal and consistent play this season.

Running Back

Kyren Williams: START, RB1
Blake Corum: FLEX, RB3

Blake Corum didn’t see an increase in work, but boy, did he increase efficiency. Corum took seven carries for 81 yards to average over 11 yards per carry and scored his second touchdown of the season. Kyren Williams temporarily left the game with an ankle issue, but returned to lead the team in rush attempts. Williams played well as well, averaging over 5 yards per carry himself, totaling 72 yards and a touchdown. Williams is expected to play in Week 14, but it’s well within the realm of possibility that his workload will be pulled back a bit while he nurses the injury. Williams is still the lead and Corum the handcuff, but a backup that should be rostered in all leagues and even a worthy gamble at flex. Both are startable in Week 14 in a top-10 fantasy matchup facing an Arizona defense that’s given up 15 touchdowns to the position.

Wide Receiver

Davante Adams: START, WR1
Puka Nacua: START, WR1

Lock Puka Nacua into your lineup right meow, but did you know that his famous family member is his cousin, Lions offensive tackle Penei Sewell? Sewell is the most famous of Nacua’s four football-playing cousins and was the No. 7 overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft. You do not bench Davante Adams, but did you know that his famous alumnus is Yankees outfielder Aaron Judge? Judge played baseball at Fresno State at the same time Adams was there, and Davante tried unsuccessfully to recruit him to the football team. Both of these stud wideouts get a middling matchup against the Cardinals’ passing defense. Nacua hasn’t scored since Week 10 or eclipsed 100 yards since Week 4, but his target share means he’s due to break one of those streaks any day.

Tight End

Colby Parkinson: tHe gLoB

Probably not a good idea to start a guy whose touchdown depended on a defense that’s given up two touchdowns to his position in their last five games. And those were to George Kittle. Colby Parkinson is, in fact, not George Kittle. So don’t start Colby Parkinson.

Defense/Special Teams

Los Angeles Rams: START

I’ll be honest. I don’t quite understand what the heck happened to this defense against Bryce Young. But they’re still one of the top units in the NFL and rank in the top three in turnovers forced.

Arizona Cardinals

Quarterback

Jacoby Brissett: START (in Superflex), Borderline QB1

Since taking over as the starter, Jacoby Brissett has had almost a carbon copy stat line: about 45 attempts, 300 passing yards, and probably two touchdowns. He’s arguably the best waiver-wire pickup of the season and a Superflex savior. He faces a challenge in Week 14 against the Rams, one of the worst matchups for quarterbacks in fantasy. But Brissett was serviceable in another formidable matchup against the Packers way back in Week 7. He’s as consistent as they come and a borderline QB1 who must start in Superflex.

Running Back

Emari Demercado: SIT
Bam Knight: SIT
Trey Benson: SIT
Michael Carter: SIT

Bam Knight has double-digit points in three consecutive games, thanks to three straight games getting into the end zone. But I’m still not interested in starting him against the Rams. Trey Benson still isn’t practicing, and the chances of him returning seem slimmer by the day. But Emari Demercao returned to a limited practice and could return after missing two games, and Michael Carter actually played more snaps. Starting any Arizona running back is banking on them scoring a touchdown. It just so happens the opponent has done a pretty good job of preventing that, as Los Angeles has allowed only three touchdowns to running backs this season. Even in the slim chance Benson can return, hard pass on these low-floor, low-ceiling Cardinals.

Wide Receiver

Marvin Harrison Jr: START, WR2 *watch practice reports
Michael WilsonFLEX, WR4 | START, WR3 (if Harrison inactive)
Greg Dortch: FLEX, WR4 (if Harrison inactive)

Michael Wilson didn’t have 15 or more targets for the third straight game, but he did tie Marvin Harrison Jr. for a team-leading seven targets. Wilson’s two-week run as possibly the greatest receiver of all time is over, but he’s still a serviceable flex. Harrison left the game with a heel injury and didn’t return. It wasn’t suggested to be a serious issue after the game, but Harrison missed practice on Wednesday, and his status for Sunday is in question. If Harrison is out, bump Wilson back to the greatest receiver of all time, a high-end WR3, and Greg Dortch to a desperation flex.

Tight End

Trey McBride: START, TE1

Lock Trey McBride into your lineup right meow, but did you know that the legendary actor John Amos, famous for his iconic roles on “Good Times” and “Coming to America,” is also an alumnus of Colorado State?

Defense/Special Teams

Arizona Cardinals: SIT

Against Matthew Stafford, Puka Nacua, and Davante Adams? In this economy?
