Philadelphia Eagles

Quarterback

Jalen Hurts: START, QB1

The boo birds were out in bunches on Black Friday in Philly, as the Bears came to town and showed just how broken the Eagles’ offense truly is. Jalen Hurts struggled once again, throwing two for touchdowns but also having two turnovers to match. He did nearly all his damage in the second half after throwing for 57 yards in the first two quarters, finishing under 250 passing yards for the third time in four games. It was Hurts’ third game in his last four with a sub-60 completion percentage, something he did just twice last season. The Eagles face the Chargers on Monday night in Week 14, and Hurts could struggle once again. The Chargers allow the fewest points to the position, holding opposing quarterbacks to under 200 passing yards in five straight games. He’s still a must-start, but his ceiling could be capped against the Chargers in the final week of fantasy’s regular season.

Running Back

Saquon Barkley: START, RB2
Tank Bigsby: SIT

Since the Eagles’ Week 9 bye, Saquon Barkley has just over 55 rushing yards and 10 fantasy points per game. I’ve said it a few times this season already, but you’re stuck in no-man’s land with him. You’re not benching him, but we’ve seen a studly game from him just once this season. He’s a borderline RB2 you begrudgingly start because there’s always a chance he goes nuclear.

Wide Receiver

A.J. Brown: START, Borderline WR1
DeVonta Smith: START, Borderline WR2

A.J. Brown again had a great fantasy game, catching 10 balls for 132 yards and two touchdowns, barely leaving any scraps for DeVonta Smith. With Hurts struggling once again, Smith caught five of eight targets for just 48 yards. It could be a long night for the duo against the Chargers, who allow the fewest fantasy points to the position and are tied for allowing a league-low 10 passing touchdowns. AJB is back to every-week WR1 status, but a borderline in a tough matchup, and Smith should still be considered a low-end WR2.

Tight End

Dallas Goedert: SIT

Dallas Goedert has less than five fantasy points in three straight games and is far, far away from fantasy viability.

Defense/Special Teams

Philadelphia Eagles: START

The Eagles face either Justin Herbert with a broken hand (and broken offensive line) or Trey Lance. Yeah, I’m thinking they’re a start.

Los Angeles Chargers

Quarterback

Justin Herbert: SIT, QB2 (Startable in Superflex)
Trey Lance: SIT

Justin Herbert suffered a broken left hand in Week 13 but somehow played through it. Herbert had surgery Monday and is reportedly preparing as if he plans to play against the Eagles, but the truth is, we have no idea how realistic that is. If he’s able to go, there’s no way I’m risking him against a Philly defense allowing just one passing touchdown a game in 1QB leagues. I prefer to sit him Superflex as well, but you may not have a choice. If Trey Lance starts, pray.

Running Back

Kimani Vidal: FLEX, RB3
Omarion Hampton: FLEX, RB3

Omarion Hampton was unable to return in Week 13, but looks likely to suit up against the Eagles. Kimani Vidal kept his every-other-game pattern going against the Raiders, rushing for 126 yards and a touchdown. Hampton should slide right back into the lead-back role, but Vidal has played well enough to carve out a role in the offense. It shouldn’t have much of an impact on Hampton, but it could cap his ceiling just a smidge. If Hampton’s active, consider both flex plays until we see how the touches are divvied up.

Wide Receiver | Tight End

Ladd McConkey: START, WR1 | WR3 (if Herbert inactive)
Quentin Johnston FLEX, WR4 | SIT (if Herbert inactive)

Keenan Allen: SIT
Oronde Gadsden II: SIT

If Herbert can give it a go Monday night, consider it business as usual for the most part for the Chargers’ pass catchers. Ladd McConkey is a borderline WR1, Quentin Johnston is a boom-or-bust flex, and Keenan Allen is a shell of himself who shouldn’t be starting on any fantasy team. Oronde Gadsden II‘s breakout has come to a screeching halt, and it won’t get any easier for him against the Eagles. Philly allows the third-fewest points to tight ends and has given up just three touchdowns to the position all year. If Lance is the starter, pray.

Defense/Special Teams

Los Angeles Chargers: SIT

The Chargers’ defense isn’t in consideration for fantasy. Even if there’s a fire.
