Dallas Cowboys

Quarterback

Dak Prescott: START, QB1

Another week, another 300 yards and two touchdowns for Dak Prescott. But the most impressive part of his back-to-back performances was who he faced. Philadelphia and Kansas City are two of just six teams that’ve permitted fewer than fourteen passing touchdowns this season, and both had allowed just one 300+ yard passer before facing Prescott. He’s a week-in, week-out must-start QB, and the only reason he’s not fun fact status at this point is the fact Dallas already has two guys who are. The Cowboys have given up the most passing touchdowns this season, but who’s tied for the second most? Yep. The Lions, I expect Dak to make it to Rayne fantasy points in Motown.

I’m not even sorry for that one.

Running Back

Javonte Williams: START, RB2
Malik Davis: SIT

Javonte Williams scored his first touchdown since before the Cowboys bye, but was only able to tally 59 rushing yards on 17 carries, his fifth straight game failing to hit the century mark. Williams has cooled a bit from his sizzling start to the season, but his near-guaranteed 20 touches per game in one of the best offenses in the league enables him to maintain RB2 value. Against Detroit, however, he’s closer to low-end RB2, as the Lions are the most difficult matchup in fantasy for opposing running backs. Malik Davis broke a long touchdown run on Thanksgiving, but remains just a handcuff.

Wide Receiver

George Pickens: START, WR1
Ceedee Lamb: START, WR1

You do not bench CeeDee Lamb, but did you know that his famous family member is his cousin, Bills wide receiver Keon Coleman? Coleman is 7 years younger than Lamb and has called him his “role model.” There’s no hesitation in starting George Pickens, but did you know his older brother Chris Humes was a professional cornerback who played for the Oakland Raiders and won a CFL Grey Cup championship in 2017?

Tight End

Jake Ferguson: START, TE1

I’m not overtly excited to start Jake Ferguson against the Lions despite ranking him inside the top five this week. His return to the upper echelon is a combination of Fergie’s consistent target share, George Kittle being on bye, and tough matchups for guys I generally rank around him like Oronde Gadsden and Dalton Schultz.

Defense/Special Teams

Dallas Cowboys: SIT

Although they’ve shown progress since making a couple of acquisitions on defense, the Cowboys are still not a defense to consider starting in fantasy.

Detroit Lions

Quarterback

Jared Goff: START, QB1

Put Jared Goff in a dome, and he’ll get you some fantasy points. Man, that was terrible. I apologize for that. I’m still not taking it back. Even after losing Amon-Ra St. Brown early against the Packers, Goff still threw for two touchdowns and 256 yards. Not an unforgettable performance, but a notable one considering the Packers’ defense hadn’t given up multiple passing touchdowns since Week 8. But you know who does like to give up passing touchdowns? Dallas. The Cowboys are the top fantasy matchup for opposing quarterbacks, allowing a league-high 28 passing touchdowns this season. Goff could and should go off against Jerry’s boys, with or without the Sun God.

Running Back

Jahmyr Gibbs: START, RB1
David Montgomery: START, RB2

Jahmyr Gibbs is a weekly must-start, but did you know the legendary actor Jim Nabors, famous for playing Gomer Pyle on The Andy Griffith Show, is also an alumnus of the University of Alabama? David Montgomery got into the end zone for the first time since Week 9, pushing the one they call “Knuckles” over 10 fantasy points for the first time since Week 10. He’s been the clear backup to Gibbs most of the season and relegated to borderline FLEX value, but could see some extra work with all the injuries on offense. Dallas has given up the 13th-most fantasy points to the position, but to Montgomery’s disadvantage, most of that has come through the air. The Cowboys permit the fifth most receptions (62) and third most receiving touchdowns to the position (3), but have allowed just three 100-yard rushers so far this season. He’s a back-end RB2 due to the potential bump in touches.

Wide Receiver

Amon-Ra St. Brown: Expected OUT | : START, WR1 (If active)
Jameson Williams: START, WR1
Isaac TeSlaa: FLEX, WR4
Tom Kennedy: SIT

Amon-Ra St Brown left the game after the Lions’ second drive of the game and was unable to return due to what would wind up as an ankle injury. At the time of writing, ARSB’s status was still uncertain, but I anticipate he misses Week 14 to give him a full 17 days to recover since suffering the injury. If by some miracle he’s active, he’s in your lineup. Period. In his absence, Jameson Williams went bonkers, setting career highs in receptions and receiving yards, catching seven passes for 144 yards, demolishing his previous career high of 143 set in week 16 of last season. Jamo also caught his sixth TD of the season and is just one shy of his career high of seven set last year. The past two weeks show why, if you roster Williams, you have to start him each and every week and ride the roller coaster. You’ll never be able to predict the boom weeks, so you have to suck it up and deal with the busts. With St. Brown likely out against Dallas, Jamo finds himself inside the top 10. Rookie Isaac TeSlaa caught his 3rd touchdown of the season and played a season high 92% of snaps, but was targeted just twice.  Precisely 50% of Teslaa’s catches have been touchdowns, but with just six catches total, he’s nothing more than a touchdown-or-bust FLEX. Seven-year vet Tom Kennedy played 76.2% of slot snaps after St. Brown went out, and with Kalif Raymond expected to miss again, Kennedy could once again play the Sun God’s role. It’s tempting, but I’m not risking such an unknown in the final week of the fantasy season outside of the most desperate of desperate situations.

Tight End

Brock Wright: SIT

Brock Wright isn’t practicing early in the week and is a long shot to play in Week 14. Even if he was active, you’d have to be in dire straits at the position to consider starting him. I didn’t even bother looking up the name of who would start in his absence, because there isn’t a single league where whoever it is should be in your lineup.

Defense/Special Teams

Detroit Lions: SIT
