Washington Commanders

Quarterback

Sam Howell (Start, QB2)

Sam Howell has now had back-to-back games with passing for over 300 yards, as he completed 29 of 45 attempts for 325 yards, one touchdown and an interception in the win against the Patriots last week. The yardage is great, but the attempts-per-game is asking a lot of him. Since Week 7, he’s averaged 46.3 attempts per. The Seattle defense has given up the 17th most fantasy points to QB’s this season, and if you are in a BYE-week bind, Howell could be a formidable streaming candidate.

Running Backs

Brian Robinson (Start, FLEX), Antonio Gibson (Sit)

Brian Robinson hit pay dirt against the Pats, turning 18 carries into 63 yards in the process. He continues to out-touch Antonio Gibson on the ground, and can be trusted as a FLEX option this week against the Seahawks.

Gibson had his best game of the season last week against New England, and that’s saying something. He turned six carries into just 34 yards, but did catch all five of his targets for 42 yards. That’s now back-to-back games with 10 catches on 10 targets for Gibson, but it’s still not enough of an output to consider him in your lineup; he’s only found the end zone once this season, and it was a TD reception back in Week 6.

Wide Receivers/Tight End

Terry McLaurin (Start, WR2), Jahan Dotson (Start, FLEX), Logan Thomas (Start, TE2)

Terry McLaurin has come on as of late – even if it’s not happening until the later half of the games – averaging 14.7 full-PPR points since Week 6. As long as Howell is passing more than anticipated, McLaurin will remain a beneficiary.

Jahan Dotson has put together back-to-back solid weeks, albeit because Curtis Samuel has been injured, and now has at least one touchdown in the last two games. He’ll look to keep that going against a Seattle defense allowing the 10th most fantasy points to WR’s on the year.

Jamison Crowder has seen 13 total targets between Week’s 8 & 9, but the output is not enough to consider him an option for your lineup.

Tight end Logan Thomas has had at least six targets in each game since Week 7, and given the fantasy landscape for TE’s, he should remain a streaming option at the position.

Seattle Seahawks

Quarterback

Geno Smith (Start if you must, QB2)

Geno Smith is coming off his worst game of the season last week in the beatdown by the Ravens. He completed 13 of 28 attempts for just 157 yards, no touchdowns, and an interception. Clearly, Seattle couldn’t get anything going offensively, and Smith now has six total interceptions since Week 6. The good news here is the Commanders’ defense is allowing the second-most amount of fantasy points opposing QBs on average, per CBS | Fantasy with 23.11 per game. If you are in a position that needs to stream a QB this week, you can look on Smith and hope he bounces back.

Running Backs

Kenneth Walker III (Start, FLEX), Zach Charbonnet (Sit)

The ground game was non-existent against Baltimore, but what’s more concerning is the play of Kenneth Walker III the past two weeks. Since Week 8, he’s turned a total of 17 carries into 82 scoreless yards, with an additional two receptions on four targets for 5 total yards. You’ll continue to start Walker, but his projected output has to be pegged down a notch.

Rookie Zach Charbonnet has not been much better, but he has out-snapped Walker in consecutive weeks. He’s a name worth monitoring, but not one to have in your lineup yet.

Wide Receivers/Tight Ends

DK Metcalf (Start, WR2), Tyler Lockett (Start, WR3), Jaxon Smith-Njigba (Start, FLEX), Noah Fant (Sit)

DK Metcalf laid a stinker – as did the rest of the receiving core – last week, catching one of four targets for 50 yards. He should be much better against a Washington defense allowing the fourth-most points to fantasy WRs this season.

Even eight targets for Tyler Lockett wasn’t enough to have a productive day against the Ravens. He caught three of those looks for 32 scoreless yards. The matchup this week against the Commanders projects to be better, so you can continue to treat Lockett as a viable WR3.

Rookie Jaxon Smith-Njigba was the best of the bunch, catching six of his seven targets for 63 yards. It’s his third positive game in a row, and he’ll look to continue to stack this solid output in a pass-heavy offense.

As has been the case all season, the Seattle TE room is one to avoid for fantasy.
